Dear President,

Can you please give more funding for the college basketball, just like
what you did for the football team?
We as a fans... we have been longing to see Pitt get into the Final Four!

Better and great Recruiters bring TALENT to the team = final four or much better TITLE.

sincerely.

We do not have a president

We have a Chancellor.

Thanks for the incisive observation.

Seriously? Our center from two years ago is an NBA starter. He left early. It left a big hole. Get over it.

There was plenty of time to replace the center. Who didn't see that one coming??? Jamie should have been looking for a back-up / replacement for Adams the minute he got on campus.

This teams problems go way deeper than the lack of a center.

A lot of top teams hardly ever see juniors and seniors since most of their players are off the the NBA in two years. Pitt gets one guy who goes pro and it destroys the program????????? Doesn't say much for the staff.

Go Pitt!

Well, they had other options, Gilbert and Birch, but didn't pan out.

As for your last paragraph, you mean Duke, UNC, Kansas, Arizona, right? Those are the teams that can absorb players leaving early. Most programs, if they get a good one and done guy that elevates them, then he leaves, the team usually falls back really quickly. See what Tony Bennet is doing at UVA...

Look at Oklahoma with Blake Griffin. ASU with Harden. Texas with Durant. That is what happens when a non blue blood gets the one and done player on occasion. They can only get one of those guys, and can't reload the next year with them, because truly, there are maybe only 10-15 true one and done a year that can really elevate a team for that year.

The teams that do well on a consistent basis that aren't Kentucky, Zona, etc are teams like Wisconsin, Gonzaga, Pitt, and now UVA. Not teams that get the best of the best recruits, but teams that get program guys, four year guys, and build around them and have a pipeline of those guys.

You seem to think quality big men grow on trees.

This board defines overreaction on just about every level. How do you know that Durand would not have been the X-factor on this team? Do you? No.. you don't. That was a major contributor gone. Did Jamie do the right thing suspending him? Your two forwards are good contributors and are very young. I do see a deficiency with play-making guards, but Damon Wilson, who has a is a good prospect.. is coming in..and Heron (2016) is a stud. But none of that matters.. fire Jamie... that's always the answer...

The basketball IQ is pretty low. Some posters seem to think quality 7 footers grow on trees. Others seem to think that playing faster would lead to more points, but only for Pitt. Others seem to think that the answer to everything is starting to recruit like Kentucky.

It was a poor year, though not nearly as bad as people have made it out to be. It is like when the football fans call the 6-6 football team the worst program in the country. Straight up overreactions.
