PG coverage

Batko used an empty stadium photo in an article this season in the Ped Post Gazette and I sent him an email depicting my disdain for him doing this. His response was that it is not his job to make Pitt look good!

Why do they make you sign up?
I'll never read a PG article again.
What I do to read the article without signing up is as follows

On desktop (won't work on phone) Click on the article and as soon as the page opens up go to the toolbar. Far right press the x. this will prevent the page to fully load.

Works for me

Tell Brian that he's full of $hit. Chris Adamski (a PSU grad and a Joebot) use to cover PSU football and went out of his way to take shots at Pitt. Readers complained and were ignored, until it became so obvious that they had to move him to cover the Steelers...

Adamski still makes pitt digs all the time. Switching to stillers beat didn't change that

You can read PG pages in incognito mode without logging in.

And the PG's shitty Pitt coverage will never change. We're a school that doesn't even have our own stadium and can't get out of our own way administratively. How can we expect any half decent coverage? It will be like this until Pitt decides to change things themselves. Until then, nothing will change. Nothing.

yeah, the list of nitter media types here is unfortunately quite large. Some of the worse however in terms of being not only big culters but vocal anti-Pitt:

Adam Bittner, PG - Fortunately doesn't do much there. I thought he was online only but not exactly sure.
Rob Biertempfel, Trib - Showed up at spring practice on Pitt beat wearing his PSU hat. I believe Pitt actually intervened on that one and asked that clown be removed.
Chris Adamski, Trib - As mentioned above, many shots at Pitt while on PSU beat, huge cheerleader.
Ron Cook - no description necessary
PG also has a few non sports type guys whose names escape me that are big Pitt bashers, pro-nits on Twitter.

Next category, big cheerleaders, but not so much on the anti-Pitt rhetoric:

Audrey Snyder, DK - I'm sure she keeps the blue & white pom-poms somewhere in her office.
Paul Alexander - mostly a cheerleader but have heard some snarky Pitt comments in the past
Guy Junker

Accused of being pro-Nit, anti-Pitt, but I think is not

How about Madden?? "Only roots for Madden."

How about Madden?? "Only roots for Madden."

what about him?

Only local sports personality to take on the nits. Admits to being a Pitt fan but is very critical due to on field results. Thought he was unfair to Graham but everyone was. And he is over the top with his feuds like Antonio Brown. But his knowledge is under-rated in baseball and his hockey knowledge is the best in town. Plus he is the most entertaining as well.

What else would you like me to say?

So we are now to excuse a sports reporter for the PG who bad mouths PITT because ... um... because of his journalistic integrity? The PG has a very long and well deserved reputation for bad mouthing PITT at every turn, on any topic and always with the seeming agenda to do harm. It's bias to PED State is easy to see, and while I will not jump to the conclusion that their agenda against PITT arises from that bias - it is difficult to ignore. PITT Football is the home town team. It should enjoy the home town advantage from the home town papers like every other home town treasure. Sadly it doesn't. And I for one am disgusted by those who facilitate an anti-PITT bias by making/supporting the laughable claim that such bias is nothing more than "independent journalism."Next thing we'll hear is "Joe didn't know!"

If you read this board, then you will see that some "Pitt fans" put a negative spin on things. So why wouldn't some of these media people do the same? Pitt's biggest enemy lies within its own fanbase and the eggheads in charge that want athletics put on the back burner.
