Not a backup is always better man but I think Pickett should have been given this opportunity earlier when both Browne and dinucci were bad to horrible (depending in the game).

It was a great game, win and exposure for Pitt beating Miami on national TV especially since it was Pitt's last regular season game one fans and recruits will remember.
Explain to me ( realizing you're not HCPN) why the staff didn't have the confidence, or expertise to go with Pickett out of the gate?
IMO Pitt wins atleast two more games with Pickett ( UNC & Cuse). Maybe VT and GT?
The staff made a mistake with Brown which was obvious to most fans, he goes down, they put in Ben Di Noodle Arm ( another posters tag for him but I like it) and compound the QB problem. And in the process somehow burn Picketts RS with one insignificant play!
Staff decision making is a question mark!

I like a lot of what Pickett does away from the play. After Ffrench dropped a pass, Pickett went up to him and gave him a pat on the helmet. Following one of their bad offensive drives, he was rallying his teammates on the sidelines. Very impressive stuff.
Temper your enthusiasm guys. The nitter board doesn't think he can throw a ball more than 10 yards down the field. If they said it once, they said it a dozen times.

I definitely didn't understand not playing Pickett after we burned his red shirt, but I do understand not starting him. He was great today, but not have been ready to start before VT.
Even today they seem to be running a fraction of the passing playbook. They threw the same slant to Weah 7 or 8 times. The same rollout run / pass option play another 7 or 8 times. Multiple shovel passes too.
I think the staff has done a nice job bringing him along. I don't understand not giving him a few series in some of those games, but it's water under the bridge at this point.
