Check that, Oversaturation should be the word. Not diminishing the push for breast cancer research, have contributed directly to the cause for many years already
I call them "The Pittnerski's Pink Panthers!" The Pitt Band should have played The Pink Panthers Theme created by Aliquippa's Henry Mancini!
Those helmets were hideous. I think the socks, shoes, gloves, center field logo, etc... are enough to make it known that Pitt supports cancer awareness. The pink just didn't mesh with the helmet color at all.
I'll put it this way. I can't knock on something that stands for breast cancer awareness. Also, they weren't so terrible that I couldn't even look at them. This is modern day football, October is pink month across the country at the college and pro level. My only problem is changing something so noticeable as the helmets when we're winning. I'm not all that superstitious, there's just some old sports voodoo I do not ever support a team tinkering with.
I think the awareness is great, but would feel better if they took the money to order that stuff and donated to cancer research or a charity that supports those going through breast cancer. I get that people like getting something for donating to a cause, but in this case you would be getting goodwill - and last I checked that's an okay thing to receive in return for your efforts.
If I never see a pink script pitt in my life, it will still be too soon..

Too much of a good thing diminishes the good that can come out of the bad.
Pink wrist bands would have been enough... The garish pink script just looked stupid, although you could barely tell from the upper deck.

It was for a good reason and all students were wearing it too, It looks bad on the NFL Players too, but is for a good purpose and to remind others of Breast Cancer! Not meant to be pretty just a reminder. I agree with you but what can be done about it?
