+1000 on the ML….huge, huge wave of sadness just went over me…this Virginia team stinks…and we aren’t expected to compete, at all, that’s where we are as a program

My betting apps never load. What does $500 on UVa win. $50? Its free money.
Didn't you guys learn anything about betting from the Minny game. Everyone was going to get rich because of that "ridiculously" tight line.

I took Virginia -15. Bet 100 to win 105.
I’d have done more but my betting site was charging me $29 service fee to add 500 and bet that.

That’s the thing. The line was essentially set before the Femi news. Seemed like a slam dunk once we knew he was out.

This is exactly why I don’t gamble. I watch games and they more often than not pan out the way I imagined they would. Then when I occasionally decide to drop some money on the game, I lose. I almost put $500 on this game and glad I only put $100.

I should have known something was wrong the minute SMF’s thoughts aligned with mine and he said “free money”. But by that time, my bet was already placed.

The line only moved about one point on the news that Odukale wasn't playing, from 13.5 to 14.5. At a couple places it made it to 15. But a guy like Odukale playing or not playing simply doesn't move the line much at all. In fact there is no player on Pitt's team that is moving the line much all on their own.

Even Tony Bennett's best teams rarely win by huge margins, even against inferior opponents. That's just not what they do. This UVA team is a work in progress. Sometimes they give flashes of being a quality basketball team, other times they really struggle. Often, like the game against Iowa, its both in the same game.

Not a very well played game Friday night on either side, but Pitt played hard & together for 40 minutes, imo.

I very rarely bet. But the free money comment was about the money line. I would NEVER bet the spread. The spread is a coin flip and even in this game, I felt UVa couldn't score enough. I picked Pitt by 16 or 18 on this very board so you should have seen that.

I would have put $500 on UVa to win outright to only win $30 or $50 but that's where my free money comment came from. I didn't think it was humanly possible for Pitt to win. But those apps never load anymore so I didn't do it
