This question is a really tough one. Not gonna go into the nitty gritty but is he ready for the NBA? His 3 point shooting lately(something I thought he had to really work on) has been excellent. He is undersized but does so many things well. But the NBA is a different animal.

I am torn but I say YES he will be back. I think he comes back 1 more year, improves even more and is gone after that.

I think he's back. But you never really know when a guy like Cam Johnson, who was physically undersized leaving college, goes 11th.

The only way he is back is if he and the team fall apart. Other than that, he has to be gone. To many people on this board say he isn't ready and needs to work on this or that. That is correct, but all it takes is for one team to tell him they like him and will take him in the first round, for him to be gone. He can learn just as much or more on an NBA bench playing against he best players in the world. And if he is a first round pick, he won't get cut.

I say he'll be back. How many more 30/20 nights do you think he is going to have. I noticed last night that when Champ got the ball and made any kind of move to the hoop 2 or 3 guys descended on him. Other teams aren't that concerned about leaving other men open.

Actually, he can learn a lot more sitting on the bench in the NBA, because an NBA team can work with him whenever they want to, as much as they want to, and college teams are restricted in how much contact they can have with players.

Sitting on an NBA bench will not improve his lateral quickness, which is going to be the biggest threat to him making an NBA roster. He was blown by (badly) on drives several times by ND's 2s and 3s last night. And he's not going to be able to play the 4 in the league.

If we collapse down the stretch and there are defections, expect him to be one of them. I would say there is zero chance of him returning to Pitt if Capel does not right the ship and we have a good finish.

He would also switch way too easy, often causing mismatches against himself and his teamate.

Stealing something @BballinsiderfromPitt said.

He’s had two knee injuries in two years. He’s not going to put up better numbers than this year. Go pro. If you don’t get drafted this year you aren’t getting drafted. Plenty of money to be made in Europe.

6’9” and can really shoot the ball from 3 vs 6’5” streaky shooter . Justin is better around the rim and rebounder , but that’s not why Cam was drafted . I don’t think against NBA types that Justin will be nearly as effective inside . Let’s not talk about his D . He’s back .

Or transfer to a different school

If he has a chance to get drafted, he'll go. How it ends up doesn't matter to us.
And if he goes, the Lair apologists will be supporting Capel next February.
