Pitt football GM

not sure if this is good or bad.

I asked Chris Peak in his mail bag a few months ago if Pitt would hire a GM? He said he couldn’t see Duzz doing that because he’s such a control freak. Peak even said it again yesterday, Wednesday that he couldn’t see that happening. Interesting! The question is, does that make Whaley Narduzzi’s boss or is he just that a figure head overseeing the football program?

I guess they can all him whatever they'd like, but it seems to me that he is more of an consultant than a true GM. I wonder if he is on the athletic department payroll or paid as a contractor? Or is he doing this pro bono?

is this some sort of "unofficial" consult job or is he a legit employee of the Athletic Dept?

Right. This isn't a real GM. More of the "celebrity consultant" like Oklahoma basketball has with Trae Young and Marquette has with Dwyane Wade.

What Pitt basketball and football need is a full-time GM to scout the mid-major markets full-time and be very knowledgeable of what the market value of these players are and to keep us "under the cap."

i could do that job..

The Steelers GM reports to the head coach.
I feel this is the case with a lot of NFL teams. The head coach chooses the GM and reports to the coach. Both positions tend to get fired together and the new coach picks their GM. This may not be the case with all teams, but it happens.

Honestly, and I realize he's seem to lost a lot ot his magic as of late, nobody is going to be better at evaluating low 3 stars than Narduzzi. At least not on defense.
