A good discussion now that Bowls, Recruiting, and Draft are over and we wait for Starters to be decided among new recruits in Accomplishments of Autumn in Coach Narduzzi's 3rd year. Many Teams on Pitt Schedule will have many more Players back than Pitt. this should be Coach pat & staff toughest season but has had 3 years of putting in his system and growing his Players.

................Looking at Pitt's long-term prognosis, I'm generally encouraged by what I see and that, of course, all starts with head coach Pat Narduzzi. Narduzzi is energetic, wins games, and as last year proved, can win some big games. He's a dynamic recruiter and a go-getter that has pushed almost entirely all of the right buttons. If Narduzzi is still here in five years, I feel pretty strongly that Pitt's football program will be having success...............In terms of stability, Pitt also finds itself in a great place in my eyes. There may be some uncertainty now with the ACC Network deal after ESPN's recent Order 66, but in general, Pitt's financial future is pretty set in the ACC for the moment. They are making much more money now than they were five years ago and, while it isn't as much as other programs are reeling in, Pitt is just in a much better position to remain competitive. And the conference isn't as ripe for poaching, anymore. In fact, the biggest thing with expansion and the ACC is if they can ever manage to land Notre Dame............

Pitt is in a much better position now than they were 7 years ago. Pitt alums and the administration need to work together to keep the ball rolling.

Agree, they have the Coaching & Budgets Now.

1. Need Stability in Athletic Department and think Heather is there and gets Pitt Script & Pitt Is It!

2. Needs Coaching Stability at OC and keeping them for at least 4 to 5 years!

3. Needs to develop more Boosters & Sponsors!

4. Needs to Win in Top 25 with 10+ Wins Consistently!

5. Needs to Win ACC Coastal!

6. Needs to Recruits & Develop a 3 Year QB!

7. Needs to Coach Pat & Staff stay at Pitt 10 Years!

I thought Notre Dame was trying to sign Narduzzi after this year?

Would love to believe we are finally building something worthwhile here that we can sustain and build upon. Everything today shows that we are doing that as a program and that Narduzzi is the guy to keep us moving forward.

But I would be lying if I said I didn't expect something to eff this up somehow. Either the Admin will penny pinch Narduzzi forcing him to leave, some big time program will lure him away through no fault of Pitt's, or so on. It is life as a Pitt fan. While things are going good now, that is life as a Pitt fan.

If Pitt fans do not show up and support the team, then of course he will leave. If Pitt wants a winner, then they need to make a financial commitment. It requires a team effort.

If he leaves then it is on Pitt, hard to turn down "The Dome From Rome", but I really think Coach Pat is here to stay at Pitt!
If Pitt wins 10+ games and makes a top tier bowl within the next couple years, then schools will come calling. No doubt. If Pat looks around and only sees 35-40k people in the stands, and another school offers 2 million+ more per year then why wouldn't he leave, especially ND? If Pitt and its alums want a winner, then their actions need to show it.

I predict:

1. Pitt will do at least one mind-numbingly stupid thing each year for the next 5 years

2. We will be having the same conversations on this board (or whatever board is relevant at that time)

3. State Penn moonies will still be worshipping at the altar of their false god

4. I will be five years older (if not, I suspect I won't be posting much)

Cruzer

If that is the logic then he needs to go to a 100,000 Stadium if Attendance decides if a Coach stays or leaves?

Matt Rhule turn down Oregon for Baylor, Oregon has more Attendance?

TCU Patterson stays at TCU with less Attendance?

Fitzgerald just sign a 10 Year Contract at NU with not much Attendance?

Richt is at Miami and with less Attendance the Pitt?

Johnson stays at Georgia Tech, Cutcliffe at Duke?
