PITT PREDICTIONS 2015 SEASON
Game Day Prediction:
I was very worried about Pitt being able to beat Coach Johnson & Georgia Tech Players. Yet, now GT has to worry if they can beat Pitt's Coach Pat & Staff Players. The fact is that Coach Pat has coached up the Pitt Players especially the Defense and Special Teams. While Coach Johnson & Staff have encounter problems in 2015? Now will be the time for Pitt Offense to win this game. They can score with big plays and play ball control too. They owe this Team a beating based on how they played so poorly last year? Coach Pat has not faced the Triple Option, but DC Conklin knows it well. Besides the Pitt offense can flat out beat the Yellow Jackets Defense. Pitt Special Teams will score at least 10 to 14 Points too. If Pitt loses I will be surprised, because this Team of Players love the coaches and the coaches love teaching the Players!

Game Day Prediction:
PITT 36 Georgia Tech 13
Preseason Prediction:
@Georgia Tech:
Ditto the Virginia Tech game…..Pott will struggle to beat Coach Johnson’s well coached and executed players that love playing like a Team. Only if Coach Pat & Staff are doing a great job at coaching can Pitt win this game. Until Pitt shows me they can beat Johnson’s Yellow Jackets the sting of defeat will be on Pitt being stung not just IT? Georgia Tech just has too much experience on the Team and Coaching.
Preseason Prediction:
Pitt- 24 GEORGIA TECH-37 (4-2)

Pitt 31-20

GT's rushing offense has averaged the following yards/rush over their last 4 games (their only 4 real opponents, all losses): 4.6, 2.9, 4.3, 1.7. GT has thrown 56 passes over the last 3 games (more than you thought), and they've had 1 interception in each. GT has fumbled the ball 11 times over those 4 games (yes, eleven), but they've only lost 3 so they're due big-time (and we're due to recover our own and others after the 3 that all went against us with Virginia, not to mention last year's s---show vs. GT). GT has given up tons of points before halftime to 3 of those 4 teams, they barely ever sack the opposing QB, they surrender 5.0 yards/rush, and they've been susceptible to big days from the opposition through the air and on the ground. Their punter is actually worse than Winslow, and their kicker is no more accurate than Blewitt. Their fan base is dejected and they have a 12:30 kickoff, so no homefield advantage in Atlanta. Narduzzi may have never seen this triple-option before, but he also never saw anything remotely like the Baylor offense that confronted MSU in the Cotton Bowl, and after going down 34-14 he had it figured out and shut Baylor out in the 4th as MSU came back and won.

GREAT POST!

I want to believe this is a different type of Pitt Team. Therefore, my prediction must match. Probably another close one though. Pitt 27 GT 22

Georgia Tech A back Broderick Snoddy was supposed to play on Saturday, but he's been ruled out now. That combined with their other injuries should help Pitt's chances. Especially after last years debacle, I'm a little worried about us turning the ball over. On the other hand, I think we should be able to force a fumble or two and maybe get an interception.

I am a little surprised to see all the banter about HCPN never having faced the triple option. He defensed it while a MAC coach and Conklin has experience with it as well. Plus the players have seen it ever since we joined the ACC.
I don't see that as a factor.

PItt 38 GT 21

I like Pitt 27 GT 17.
The offense is still finding their rhythm, but I think they can do enough to win the game (just minimize mistakes).
Defense looks up to the challenge- they are nasty and fly to the ball. Should be fun to watch!

Hoping Grigsby is back and can play the whole game. Really a difference maker for our defense.
Pitt 27, Georgia Tech 10

It appears two of you are expecting another safety. To borrow from Lee Corso, "Not so fast." This time the big defensive points will come from a fumble returned for six.

34 Pitt
17 GT

Same score I gave on the other Pitt/GT prediction thread. Same score I'll give on the next prediction thread someone else starts.

I like the approach of the staff going into this game, they are extremely excited for the challenge of facing this difficult offense. This will be a huge test for the defense, especially at the LB position. Grigsby could have 20 tackles in this game.

On offense, I really feel like the guys are due for a massive game. Look for the TEs to continue to see an increased role in the passing game, along with an increased load for James since he should be over the flu at this point.

PITT: 42
GT: 31

Too close to call. Will probably come down to the 4th quarter again.

The resurgence of Pitt football is not a straight line upward. There will be steps backward with the ultimate trend positive. They lose today....struggle to beat Syracuse and then take down UNC on Thursday.

Ga Tech is not as good as advertised...but they right the ship this week

Tech 30
Pitt 17

PITT Georgia Tech Result:
PITT 31 Georgia Tech 28
Well, Kudos to CaptainMurphy, Jakey John, Consultant Panther and Tiger-Paul all calling a closer Game than expected by me? I nailed that the PITT Offense would wake up, Play Ball Control, make Big Plays, and win by Special Teams. Dead ass wrong on GT not being held to 13 points or less? Yet, I expect this PITT Defense to give up big plays, just like the Steelers since being so new. yet, both don't seem to Quit anymore? I love this Coach & Staff and thank Posters that attacked me for wanting Rudolph over Narduzzi in NC Panther, HughGreen, UPitt89, DRVY, and others, and I am glad you changed my mind, after reading your post way back in December and went your superior insight, you were all right and I don't mind being wrong as PITT Wins!? Chaney has come through proving Peterman is the better QB and we still have Chad as back-up and double threat? Boyd is just pure Bolder than ever and another PITT Record Holder with "No Foster Home" for him since PITT IS IT? PITT Defense saved the game at the end again. Pitt still must struggle to win every game but it can be done. Recruiting will turn around soon and ain't it great being a Top 25 Ranked PITT Fan rather than a confused PSU and demoralized WVU fan? Grades C and F+ for getting GT wrong, but came close for PITT 31 versus my 36?
