I agree. I think the original post said players leading teams to the tourney, Pitt isn’t going to be buying any leaders imo, at least not in today’s college landscape.

I meant players with leadership TEAM first qualities that haven't been stat stuffers. Yeah, Pitt isn't getting too many of both.

Reality bites when you see what is happening to teams without enough resources to compete . You guys want to put all this on one man while I don’t care who the coach is , because without the cash nobody is going to get the necessary talent to win .

You guys come up some imaginary numbers that Pitts paying these guys , but nobody can verify it .but how about these facts ,

1) losing your best player to Kentucky who loved his coach
2) the best player signed so far from the portal is rated around 100th best . Why did Iowa St let him leave ?
3) How about Minor rated #343 and 58th pg .
4) Dunning #206 .

Whatever number that they’re spending it’s not enough !

If you and others want to think that this roster that they’re assembling will be competitive without the addition of two exceptional players you’re going to be very disappointed. Do you seriously believe that’s going to happen ?

I’ve been a Pitt Bb fan since the 70’s and whatever the roster is and who the coach is I’ll be rooting for their success, I’m just not very optimistic about the future for Pitt Bb .

You think I’m totally off base when it comes to Pitt Bb and that I’m trolling , the current situation with Pitt Bb is pretty simple to understand IMO .

“You guys “refers to several posters who continuity think “I’m amusing “ , I’m trolling etc .

Let me reiterate my positions for you personally,
1) Pitt doesn’t have enough money to fire JC and then pay any worthy candidate
2)Pitts problems won’t be solved with just firing JC or reorganizing his staff
3)Pitts problem isn’t that they don’t spend any NIL money on players , the problem is that they don’t spend enough
4)while no one knows what they spend the holes in last yrs team , Lowe leaving and the group they’ve brought in are all pretty good circumstantial evidence to support my point of view .
5)unless the freshman coming in is a reincarnation of Bub and there’s two major signings coming it’s going to be a very disappointing season
6)I wish anyone including JC , and yes even KS , success while coaching the Panthers .
7) Pitt has no else to blame for the last 8/9 yrs but itself for forcing JD out . Things will not improve until they find a few whales to support Pitt Bb (and Fb ) .

Pitt is no Duke or Kentucky - something you beat to death. Yet you use Lowe as if Pitt can spend more to keep him. From a blue blood.

No matter how many times you repeat the Bullcrap that Dixon was forced out, it won’t make it true…what is true is that Dixon went from a very good coach to below average. Glad he hit the bricks…he belongs with a garbage program like the horned toads.

Look at their most successful season: Elliott, Burton, Cummings and Hinson all had been with programs that had tournament experience.
