Pitt heads to Lubrano Park today

OMG is that really the name of their baseball field ? He is king of the crazies.

Technically it's called Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

By the way, if you read the Wikipedia entry for the stadium it include this tidbit:

"Anthony Lubrano is a 1982 alumnus of the Penn State Smeal College of Business. Since graduation, Lubrano has established a successful financial services company. His donation of $2.5 million (USD) towards this project made him the lead benefactor, and Lubrano received from Penn State the opportunity to name this venue, however, Lubrano has yet to pay his pledged donation."
Now that is priceless.

And by the way, Pitt leads 4-0 in the 5th inning.

Pitt has nine runs on eight hits at this point. The nitters have already committed five errors, making six of Pitt's nine runs unearned.

Wow, you have to be kidding me.

Clean sweep of Penn State in football, basketball, and baseball.

At least we beat their ass so we don't have to see them tweeting a bunch of crap with him in it.

Over the last decade, Kent State has been a better baseball program than both Pitt and PSU.

Which would be a sad indictment of Pitt and Penn State, because it's not like Kent State has anything even approaching a good baseball program. Although they did have that great run in the NCAA tournament about five years or so ago.

They have a new coach now, but Kent State has been a much better baseball program than Pitt or PSU for the last 25 years. They've been to 12 NCAA regionals, advanced a couple times and even made the college world series. Beating PSU is much easier than beating KSU in baseball.

You are correct. They have a good program.

They've been to 12 NCAA regionals

Which means they are a good program for the MAC, not a good national level program. They've only made the NCAA tournament as an at large team one time, in 1994. They've never been higher than a three seed in their regional, which means that the NCAA has had them ranked somewhere between 33 and 48 in the country (out of teams that made the tournament) in their BEST year. They were a fourth seed, meaning between the 49th and 64th best team in the tournament in eight of the 12 times they've made the NCAA tournament.

Both Pitt and Penn State SHOULD be better than Kent State. It shows how seriously Pitt (and I would assume Penn State) take baseball that they aren't.

They're much better than pitt and PSU in baseball. I'm not saying it should be that way but it's the truth. Look at our all time record vs them.

Joe is wrong and you are right on this topic. Anybody that follows college baseball would agree with you.
