As most Pitt fans know, Pitt currently has 8 former players in the Pro Football HOF, 4th highest of any college. I'm curious to hear from knowledgeable NFL fans regarding Pitt's future place on this ranking in the foreseeable future. I'll list the schools below that could potentially be passed by Pitt or pass Pitt, and if NFL fans who have a good sense of what type of players usually make the HOF can chime in and predict what changes on the list based on who's listed below as possible, I'd appreciate it.

#8, Miami (6)
Next possible: Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson

#4, Michigan (8)
Next possible: Tom Brady, Charles Woodson, Steve Hutchinson, Ty Law

#4, Pitt (8)
Likely: Fitzgerald, Revis
Maybe: Covert --- I have no idea what type of career an NFL OL needs to make the HOF
Too early, but: McCoy, Donald

#3, OSU (9)
Next possible: Orlando Pace, Randy Gradishar (Seniors Committee - see comment below)

#1, USC (12)
Next possible: Troy Polamalu, Clay Matthews III (although only 1x 1st team All-Pro)

#1, ND (12)
Next possible: Bob Kuechenberg (apparently the HOF has a Seniors Committee to put in guys who don't make it for many year ... stupid, but it is what it is)

My completely uneducated guess for how the list shakes out after accounting for the players listed above:
1. USC (13) +Troy
2. ND (12) no idea how easy it is for SC to put guys in so no Bob
2. Michigan (12) +all 4 above
4. Pitt (11) +Larry & Revis, +1 more (AD!)
5. OSU (10) +Pace, no idea regarding SC's picks
5. Miami (10) +all 4 above

I think Fitz will get in. I think Revis, with a couple more shut down years, will get in. I think Shady will need 4 or 5 more outstanding years to get in. Donald is way too early but 8 to 10 more years at his current playing level would make him a lock. Covert and even May would be less than even bets I would guess.

Yes Rueben Brown is a sure thing. 4 All pro & 9 pro bowls

Shoot, I honestly assumed he was somehow accounted for already, probably because I knew he was recently inducted into the HOF but forgot it was the college HOF. He puts Pitt at 11 definite and 12 possible for the near-ish future, so maybe as high as tied for 2nd place in 15 years.

Just a cool fyi about the Hall of Fame, we visited last Saturday before heading to Akron. Someone had left a Pitt cap on Tony's bust. It was pretty awesome.

Someone left OJ's on the highway a few years back. You used to be able to see the discoloration of it. I don' t know if it is still visible.

Good to see Pitt represented. Funny story I was just there too for Bettis' induction. I was in the gift shop and got a couple more Steelers' player hall of fame tees. I had to get a Marino Dolphins one too when i saw it.
So then I thought, heck why not go get a Dorsett one too. I went over to the Cowboys section (in full Steelers gear, so everyone was a little confused.) They didn't even have a Dorsett Cowboys shirt. I was shocked. Almost made me wonder why have a Cowboys section if you're not going to have a Tony Dorsett shirt.

Crazy to think Andy Lee could get a nod someday? I know that it's typical to dismiss punters but he's been a great one for a long time and still going strong.
