looks like we are less than $1000.00 away from the goal. with the $1000.00 matching donation we would be over 10,600. maybe get it done before the weekend is over? does that seem right ITG? H2P!!!!

It sure does! We are only $145 away from the 10,000 mark. We have an amazing anonymous donor who has pledged to match 1,000 in donations. With his matching donation we have a great chance to get this finished in the next day or two!

Hail to Pitt!

THIS IS OUTSTANDING. ITG - I know this hasn't been the easiest - asking for money never is. But so happy that this is all working out, potentially even before the season starts. I hope that someone will explain to the players how this came about from everyday Panther fans who care that much about them and the program, not some big roller. Congratulations.

Way to go Dave! We all commend you and your efforts! Hail To Pitt!

It was an exciting night last night! We finished up with $11,540 in total donations.

I wanted to just thank every single person on here who helped make such a big difference for this fundraiser. Our 2 biggest periods of donations were both thanks to the Panther-Lair.com subscribers.

I fully anticipated spending my YSU tailgate time going from lot to lot to hand out business cards about the fundraiser and solicit donations. Instead, a generous donor came through with a great idea to get the interest back up and the donations coming in. Friday at 6:30 a.m. we were at 7600 in donations. On Saturday at 10:30 we had hit our fundraising goal.

Thank you again to everyone for helping Pitt! Hail to Pitt!

Congrats toughguy, and I think (actually hope) the most important thing that comes away from this is the athletic department considering crowdsourced fundraising and other viral techniques as viable avenues to not just raise money, but engage people and make them feel a stake in the program. Anyone that has ever tried to get people involved with university activities or fundraising knows how difficult that can be. I hope the alumni association takes note as well. Smaller groups raising individual or partial endowments is always a direction I thought they could go.

I have a good connection to the Alumni Assoc (LOL) - believe me I will let him know as soon as we return from vacation. But I'm sure there are posters here who are also very involved in the organization too. I know it's a stretch but this should also be recognized when the Fan Experience (or whatever its called) group meets. You are right that it can/should act as a template.

It looks like the fan experience committee has been chosen. I was hoping that I would get a spot, but it wasn't to be. 800 applications for "20" spots, so I am interested to find out who they selected.
