Pitt Mens Soccer

I like the unified Pitt identity across sports.

I agree, the "identity" should be the same. But what looks good in a football uniform doesn't necessarily look good in a pair of soccer shorts or volleyball shorts. And just imagine how dumb it would look if the baseball team wore something that looked like that.

The identity comes from wearing the same colors with the same fonts and the same general style. Which is something that we've always had a problem with. Different sports don't need to wear the exact same thing to be using a unified identity.

Please don’t go there. We don’t need SMF chiming in on how our Vball ladies would look in their shorts.

The baseball team already does sort of wear a version of it:

But that's exactly what I am talking about. They are not, in fact, the same. If you want to say they are similar, or that they keep a consistent identity, then sure. But they don't have to be the same to do that.

And those soccer shorts are still ugly.

:)

What Heather has done in this regard is one of the top bullet points on her resume. Our athletic department, students and alums have pride, an identity and is a true family and have bonded over the logo and colors.

Of course it was a no brainer compared to what we had before it. But the execution has been flawless.

They’ve worn the white shorts, blue shorts, and yellow shorts both with the white and blue tops since they got these current kits. I don’t think it’s necessarily a direct ode to the football pants, but if you’ve got a vertical triple stripe in the kit design, it’s gonna look similar.

I don’t mind the look, but I also like the monochrome a little better.

Good win last night and because of an unlucky freaky goal in the 2nd half, louisville made it interesting and I was sweating a little. But this goal essentially sealed it. One of the best tee goals you’ll see.

Math is math. Pitt only has 12 games left so they dont have as many at bats to make up for a bad RPI as they would in a 116 game season.

I am not trying to cause alarm bells here. Pitt has proven to me that its an NCAAT team. I just think they are going to be one of those 30ish or 40ish RPI type teams.

By the way, did you notice that as of this morning Pitt's RPI was 4?

It's almost as if a ranking system like RPI doesn't make any sense when the teams have only played a few games. Gee, I wish someone would have pointed that out to everyone a couple weeks ago, so we all wouldn't have had to worry about something that was literally nothing at all to worry about.

Wait a second....

They literally haven't lost since. I figured this team would be a mid-tier NCAAT type, meaning a fair amount of losses.

It's OK for you to say, "yeah, duh, I clearly had no idea how a small sample sized worked with something like the RPI."

But I guess on the other hand you really didn't need to say it, because it was so obvious to anyone who actually does understand the RPI.
