The House thread made me wonder: What would your all-time Pitt message board team look like? This wouldn't be based on their success in college or pros. This would be ranking by all-time mentions / notoriety / infamy on Pitt message boards.

Mine...
AD: Steve beats out Barnes / Bozic and the postulated DW
HC: Paterno - We can debate Wlat / Dave / HCPC / HCPN. But JoePa hatred is constant. Graham might be #2 actually
OC: Canada
DC: Sandusky obviously. House and Sal Sunseri are distant 2nd and 3rd.

QB: Pryor (MVP)
RB: Brian Davis
FB: Aston
WR: Foster
WR: Stedman "Purple Drank" Bailey
TE: Scott "Orndorff"
OL: Chase Clowser and his wings
OL: Nick "Bowl Games" Marmo
OL: Sterling Jenkins
OL: Jason Pinkston's 4th star
OL: Dan Mozes? Ran out of ideas for linemen

There have been so many whipping boys in the secondary - Briggs, Pitts, Maddox, Webb - so I kind of went with a 4-2-5...

DT: AD - as the obligatory 3-star done All-Pro mention
DT: Tyree Young - what could have been
DE: Mike "Solid As Oak" Mangold
DE: Jabaal Sheard - for his work on the South Side
LB: Pig Smith
LB: Clint Session(s)
DB/LB: Tommy Campbell
CB: Paris Ford (could be S, but given the umbrage at his switch I put him at CB)
CB: Wade
S: Jovanni Ward
S: Briggs

KR: Mardy Gilyard
PR: Switzer
K: Blewitt
P: ?

fantastic topic. interested how this goes..

maybe more recency effect here but Avonte Maddox was on the whole pantherlair spectrum over the last 1/2 decade. from rising freshman to blah soph to horrible Jr to greatest CB in history of Pitt his sr year followed up with nfl success..

Wirginis too, he's been a Pantherlair All American for the better part of 3 years too.. so much that I questioned myself if maybe I missed a full season or two of pitt football..

Elijah Feilds needs to be on there as a Hybrid and MoMo Weekly needs and HM also.

Thanks for nothing else than reminding what position Pig Smith played. Or not played, of course.

And the Jovonny Ward ref was tremendous.

You need to get Greg Cross in there somewhere. Ironically exactly what so many called on Wanny to do.

I must admit, i forget the whole story about Pig Smith and even Chase Choswer with Chicken Wings.

Pinkie Johnson at RB?
Moronelli at QB?
Ahem, Robert Foster?
Who was the DL from Maryland with the domestic issues?

I think we were pretty restrained with Blewett. He did ok, I think most respected him here.
Under the circumstances of his name, could have been far worse!

I'd replace him with the fatass PSU kicker, can't think of the name, but we were pretty merciless with him

Can we make sure that this all time message board team plays in an on campus stadium that’s partially tarped? That’s a constant here.

  • Pinkie would get a spot behind The Legend of Brian Davis IMO. Julius Jones, Saquon and Miles Sanders would fight it out for #3.
  • C'mon Moronelli is a loooong way behind Pryor at QB.
  • Foster is my #1 WR above.
  • I don't recall the kid from MD, but if we can't think of his name that isn't a good start to his case for inclusion.

Great call on Nicky “your team stinks and you don’t go to bowl games” Marmo. And I think Anthony Moronelli gives Pryor a run for his money.

I hate to bring this name up because I do not appreciate the treatment of him here but what of Tino?

Bill Stull (gotta get Biwwy more work)

Dale Williams (did he ever become a dr) and his dad

Austin Ransom (how can a walk-on WR be starting at LB)

Jeff Hafley for recruiting coordinator

Miles Dieffenbach (Pitt tennis coach kid says FU to Pitt)

Thomas MacVittie (he was Kenny Pickett before Kenny Pickett)

Team sponsored by Breezewood Sheetz

The RB has to be Barkley. He has more love on this board than any other Pitt RB, past, present or future. He's generational, once in a lifetime, probably rescues puppies on the weekend.

Can we hire coach dieffenbach as Pitt’s recruiting coordinator? He will advise anyone and everyone to not come to pitt.

Ray Vinopal has to crack the two deep. David Durham and Andrew Janocko not too far behind as well.

It wouldn’t matter who the players were if we played an easier non-conference schedule

I haven’t figured it out yet, but surely there is a way to incorporate Steel Curtain into this.

All home games would start at noon, Sweet Caroline moved back to the end of the 3rd so students knew when it was the right time to leave to get their bag of chips and can of pop.

Also, bubble boy would have to be brought back and the number of cheerleaders/dance team should be expanded from 100 to 200.

John turman's older sister is definitely on the cheerleading team.. if eligible of course, as a former Raiderette, her amateur status may be an issue. Howland's daughter too, the red head. although I think I was the only one that brought her up on this board, a few times actually.

Maybe Jami Turman can replace Nuzzo. Has anyone seen any improvement in the level of cheering over the years? We talk atmosphere all the time here and yet her name never gets mentioned. And what are they doing at Nationals?

Also, this team would have no internal drug testing policy. Smoke all the weed you want, just hope the NCAA doesnt catch you.

Gotta find room for "Sticky" Ricky Gary in the secondary. I think Walt Harris should be QB coach with Bill Cherpak, Bob Palko and Tom Bradley on staff somewhere.
