I realize both Navy and Houston are 10-1 and ranked. This is the American Athletic West Championship game with the winner playing for NY6 bowl game at home the following week. I'm just surprised that ESPN thinks this game will make it more money than Pitt/Miami. The AAC game got ABC national while Pitt/Miami was relegated to ESPN2.
I know some will claim Navy has a national fanbase and will bring big ratings but I dont believe all that. I'd ask why there TV deal was with CBS Sports Network, a network so small it isnt even rated by Nielsen, before moving to the American. Navy is a great story but more people will tune in for The U........always. Not to mention, the average ACC fan will watch Pitt/Miami. From a business standpoint, I just dont understand this one. 8-3 Pitt vs 7-4 Miami is more appetizing than 2 American Athletic teams playing for a division championship.
