We could be waiting a long time for this one to start.

Maybe we could get the ACC to institute ghost runners for just this one game.

My jinx worked! Not two minutes after I posted this the Louisville batter just walloped one.

Now they need to get three quick outs in the bottom of the inning.

For anyone wondering, the winner of our game gets the winner of this Louisville - Georgia Tech game in the semis.

Duke has already clinched a spot in the other semi. They will play tomorrow's Notre Dame - Virginia winner.

Georgia Tech scores two in the bottom of the 12th when the Louisville centerfielder boots a ball and allows the runner to score from first on a single.

That means our game is going to start somewhere around 8:50 I would imagine.

NC State gets 2 men on with one out but Gilbertson gets a DP to end the inning!

H2P

In Gilbertson’s defense, he struck out both of those batters before the triple. But that’ll happen when you’re playing a team from North Carolina in this conference.

And there it is-the first officiating conspiracy post of the game. Can’t believe it took this long!

Did you also think the umps were jobbing Pitt in the UNC game?

Conspiracy or no conspiracy, the ball called strike 3 on Yanni was farther off the plate than both called ball 4s for NC State. There is no consistency to this home plate umpire’s strike zone.

What compounds that is that all year Gilbertson has gotten emotional when calls go against him. It happened again here. And, we don’t have the bullpen to replace him. He needs to get himself straightened out.

I haven’t watched a lot of games this year, does Gilbertson ever throw an inside pitch to right handed hitters? He lives on the outside part of the plate, and I’m surprised more hitters don’t dive out after him (note, as I type this he throws 1 inside pitch to Mensik. He also then got a called strike 3 on a ball that appeared to be well off the plate, for those scoring at home)

Do you only post when things aren’t going well? Not a peep from you during or after our victory over UNC.

Asking for a friend.
Will it also ruffle you if I post a criticism of this horrific announcing duo, in particular the play by play guy, that has called both Pitt games?

Just want to make sure I don’t do anything to further offend your delicate sensibilities.

Once in awhile, but he doesn’t throw very hard. He needs to pick his spots.

Are they good? No.

But it is better than watching games on the ACCNX in which you couldn’t even track the ball while listening in silence.

Aussie color man on the first strike to Duff: Great pitch right on the black.

He was right if he was talking about the blacktop in the parking lot.

I figured he thought it was a great pitch because any time you can throw a pitch four inches low and four inches inside and have the umpire call it a strike that's a great pitch, from the pitcher's point of view.

Having a guy with a heavy Aussie accent calling a college baseball game is just all kinds of wrong.

Did everyone enjoy the fascinating piece of trivia that Pittsburgh PA is the only Pittsburgh in the country that spells Pittsburgh with an “h”?
