PITT-North Carolina Game Day Prediction!

PITT-North Carolina Game Day Prediction:
Fedora’s experience and Veteran Stable Staff has out prepared, out coached, out recruited, and out played Pitt the last 2 years? The games I am using to portend this game are UVA and GT. Both Pitt and UNC played UNC about the same, so no help there to predict. I think Cuse was the Trap Scare Game Pitt Players is the clue they needed to be even more focus on this game, along with better tackling, and long drives. I have one big fear, that I expect Fedora will use a few dirty plays on Pitt Players, and the ACC Refs like to ignore such misdeeds from North Carolina Teams. If Boyd can be, knock out, the Panther Claws are gone, and UNC needs to stop Pitt’s Beast to win, so look out? On the other hand, Coach Narduzzi knows how to give that right back should he need it? So, how to measure and predict this important game know the following details? Both Teams have won the same games as last season, qualified for a Bowl Games, Undefeated in Conference, Ranks next to each other in Betting Line Power Ratings, Eyeing a Coastal Division Championship, Playing in the ACC Championship Game, Playing Success not seen In Years, Both lost Heart-Breakers to SEC SC and B1G Iowa, and the last time both had 10 wins they played in Bowl Game? At the same time, Pitt does not look great in winning late and by a few points, while UNC has won by more points often and higher. Pitt just does not blow away anybody, but the Players stay in the game all day long, but so does UNC? It gets worse; Pitt coming from behind to win 4th Quarter was last done against UNC in the Bowl Game of 2009? Nevertheless, the Old Panthers that lost 32 consecutive games when losing in the 4th is gone now. UNC is 3-0 since 1997 but this year they win late games too, by stopping and outscoring Teams. Therefore, Both Coaches & Staff know it is not about just Half Time Adjustments in this game. It is about which Team can stay focus, discipline, and not panic with being more patient with their play, as far as I am concern. UNC can defend the pass, but has some trouble against the run. Remember how Special Teams are important well no edge there either, both will play well. My Head says until Pitt shows it can beat Fedora UNC players they will win by an edge, but…my Heart is with Narduzzi having a better Defense and Special Teams. More importantly, the UNC Players are not expecting this typeof guile this time around and by the time they wake up, unless the ACC Refs makes some bad calls, Pitt will pull it out. Therefore, I am going with Pitt by 3 or less under the lights out at Heinz. Since I am going with my Heart, ("Intelligence Comes From The Heart!"), I am going to also use magic and miracles with superstition near this Halloween! Along with the mystical Pitt Script official return as well too that is slowly removing Pederson's Poison out of the Pitt Football Program? Yeah, that’s right, if you gussed it....PITT IRON-HEAD HEYWARD #34 is smiling down on his beloved Pitt and his son that is on the Steelers there to see Pitt win it with all of Pitt too!
Game Day Prediction:
"34" PITT 31 North Carolina

Game Day Result:
Pitt Preseason Prediction August 2015:
Get use to an exact rematch the last two seasons when Pitt lost on Chryst’s Special Education on Special Teams costing Pitt players that played their hearts out losing leads they had and did not deserve to be let down by Chryst arrogance and ignorance not needing Special Teams? Total Toss Up Game, and tough call, I will go with Pitt but have no clue until Game Day? Fedora again has been there at UNC while Coach Pat & Staff are in the first year.
Preseason Prediction:
PITT- 34 North Carolina-29 (6-2)

UNC 27
Pitt 17

We have struggled with Marquise Williams. Even though our defense is much better this year, I worry about him scrambling and running; broken plays.

I'll call UNC 34 Pitt 30. The Pitt fans have to have nightmares of Switzer after two seasons ago. I say he takes another punt return to the house and that proves to be the difference in an otherwise tightly contested game.

42-14 UNC. Speed of UNC kills a slower Pitt D. Also looking for Switzer to return a punt for a TD this game.
Oh, I hope not on Switzer he did that last year? I agree, Pitt Defense will have their hands full, but the Cuse Game was perfect timing for Coach Pat to fix that, but whether they can do it against UNC, we shall see?

Turnovers: Will happen on both sides. Minimize the impact, maximize the opportunity. UNC must be held to FGs or punts, Pitt needs will-breaking TDs.
Defense: Pitt has looked like has committed some mistakes and not been completely lock down the last few games through all four quarters. I like the opportunity for them to play on a big stage and demonstrate the level at which they are capable of playing. At the end of the day, if the defense can give the offense one more opportunity to score, I like our chances.
Offense: I hope they can stake out to a lead at the half, and just mash them with the offensive line in the second half. I am still looking for this unit to fire on all cylinders through four quarters and hang a 40 spot on somebody. I hope tonight is the night, but I think it is much closer.

Chris Blewitt in the fourth - Pitt 27, UNC 24.

I just can't get over the fact that YSU scored 37 points.
34-17, UNC.

The biggest difference between the Pitt defense this year and last year is their attacking/blitzing style, that sometimes can cover up weaknesses. At times Georgia Tech and Syracuse moved the ball ridiculously easy against Pitt's defense, and imo Pitt is at their weakest on defense when they are not attacking/blitzing.

Hopefully tonight UNC won't be able to handle the blitzing from Pitt's d, and maybe they can hit this qb and rattle him a little bit

PITT is make some serious waves in prime time. The running game continues to improve, and the defense likely received some hard coaching during the short week for their uninspired tackling performance last week.

Boyd will break off two big plays for TDs, Ollison keeps the chains moving with James. Price and Blair get back to wreaking havoc and forcing Williams and Hood into the waiting arms of the interior DL.

PITT: 31
UNC: 24

Apparently, we agree on how the the game will play out on the field and on the score board.

Extremely, extremely hard game to predict. Y'all do things well that we don't handle well, and we do things well that y'all don't handle well. Very even matchup in my opinion. I do like that the weather forecast has calmed in terms of rain and wind. It's strange for me because I feel very confident going into this game (rare for me) and I think our guys will all give 100% til the final whistle but I'm just not sure it will be enough. To me, two things will be the difference:

1). Carolina's depleted D-Line. Just too many injuries there for us -- I think y'all will be able to run it successfully enough to keep us off the field and to open up the passing game, which leads to item #2....
2). Boyd. I just think he's going to be too much for us. His dynamic skills mixed with our inability to get to the QB make me believe y'all will hit him once or twice over the top for a big "catastrophic play" as our DC Gene Chizik calls them.

I hope this isn't the case because all Tar Heel fans are sick of Carolina getting to the hump but not quite getting over it, but my prediction is:

Pitt: 34
UNC: 28

It was a Pitt Trademark and responsible for many Pitt Close Losses, since Harris, Wannstedt, Graham and especially Chryst that laughed at being asked why he had no Special Team Coach and lost 2 to 3 Games year due to his lack of coaching them???

However, Coach Pat fixed that with finding one of the Best Special Teams Coaches in CFB and brought him to Pitt as one of his priority. They are improved and no longer the reason for losing a few games that Pitt should have won, they are in fact now winning some close games for Pitt!

Great game coming and the loser will have a tough time mentally overcoming that lost the rest of the season, just a hunch?

There are 2 glaring differences between our game last year and the game tonight. Those 2 differences are named Pat Narduzzi and Gene Chizik. If you did not have Narduzzi and we had Chizik, I'd say we'd win by at least 14. If we did not have Chizik and you had Narduzzi, I'd say Pitt would win by at least 17, because our D would not be able to stop you.

Each team is mentally tougher because of the new coach.

I think home field advantage will help Pitt, and again we'll see a late, probably long, FG eek out a Panther W.

Agree, and thanks for posting such thoughts and insights. As I see it after reading everything and your posts, Normally I Would Say "Fortune Follows The Bold!!!

However, the winner will be the Team that is patient and plays every play as coached by two great Head Coaches & Staffs and that last kick will be the one that kicks it last?

I do have nightmares because both TD's should have been nullified for clear blocks in the back. Hope the officials are better tonight.

Daminals76, PittZap and a Number of UNC Visitors to the Lair Picked the closest score! Mist games are decided by 4 to 6 Plays on winning or losing, this was one of them! Larry Fedora has some nice players he is recruiting and developing as a Coach as he did at Southern Missy! Congratulations UNC Tar heels that are now in the lead to win the ACC Coastal even if Pitt should tie them?
