Terrible call. I know it probably doesn't matter because it's not a bubble team but the ref had no business calling that. Feel bad for our seniors. Leggett always hustles especially.

That has to be the worst played game by any basketball team in the history of the NCAA. And a fitting end to a miserable season at Pitt to get beaten by an extremely bad, pathetic ND team. Lowe had no business driving for that shot and then stepping out of bounds. This is a team filled with very low IQ players and coaches.
Please, get rid of the entire roster and start over. It can't be worse than this.

It was also a shit-effort by Pitt. Stepping out of bounds is bad. The rebounding is so weak. The shot selection is terrible. I have no idea what they look at in film study and say, “yeah, this is working well”.
Just a weak team, mentally and physically. So glad I didn’t go and am heading to the Big East tomorrow.

I'd go with that. He's the only one even making an effort who has any ability. The rest that would be coming back are not worth keeping.
That's where I'm at as well, but Cummings has a lot to clean up in his game. Not sure I want him starting as early as next season (though we likely won't have a choice).

ND got us twice in four days. Also went into 4OT the other day, which caused us to miss the first half of the only game we've won in the last 21 days.

I'd be glad to get Amsal back, I think he was one of the few players improving with more minutes. And as others said, Cummings. That's probably about it!
I listened to a few minutes of the second half, ran an errand and completely forgot to go back to the game until Hilly was reading the final stats. This is what PMBB has become for this former four decade ST holder. An afterthought. I hope things change to get the juices flowing again.
Those are the only two I'd be concerned with getting back next year. It just sucks with Capel again. Cummings could be a significant piece, but Capel's history developing young talent isn't exactly reassuring.
That's why he needs 5 star, top 50 talent to succeed. He is incapable of developing players that are lower than that. I question is game preparation and strategies during the game, knowing if he has just good talent, he'll fail miserably like he did this year.
I sat in person and watched. This team choked numerous times in the last six minutes. Cold shooting all game and stupid plays. I have never seen a team with so much trouble boxing out for the rebound. Two missed dunks for Zack didn’t help but this was a matter of shitty coaching. Capel doesn’t know how to close games. I’m sitting here watching va tech and cal and not sure how we beat both teams. We can’t have ish bebah and Jalend. Just too small when you have 7 footers that play like they are 6’5”. This team needs a real big man
I'm happy right now that this awful season is over. Relieve us of our misery. Next year is looking even worse if we keep most of the returners and only get a few portal players.
The pathetic rebounding and total lack of energy and position on defense is confounding. That's on Capel for not coaching and preparing his team to play.
Let's face it...if we even show an additional 1 minute of life against a really bad ND team, we win this game. We should have beaten them by 20+.
That last foul call was no foul at all. Austin was standing in position and never touched or barely touched the guy. Just an awful call to end Austin's career. I feel bad for Austin that his basketball playing days have to end that way. But if Pitt was even marginally coached and prepared for this game, that call wouldn't have mattered one bit. That's 100% on Capel. He can't expect his players to do things on the court that he doesn't prepare them for or coach them on.
