Did you ever imagine that in Pat Narduzzi's 11th season at Pitt, Pitt would have the 12th best odds of winning the ACC, with a returning starting quarterback no less?

I’ll say that it’s not impossible thanks to Holstein, Reid, and OC Bell. However, two things will need to happen for us to win the ACC:
  1. Kenny Johnson takes a Jordan Addison-esque jump in year three and becomes a legitimate All-American candidate.
  2. We need the defensive line to take a big step up in 2025, with one or two guys becoming All-ACC players at the least. Having Kyle Louis return helps, and the secondary is at least not a huge liability, but we need the line to return to its 2019-22 form. Is that FitzSimmons? Spires? Someone else?

Didn’t anyone learn about FSU last season?

They don’t have good odds to win it.
But if you’re the house, you can only put the team with Top 2 to 3 overall recruiting class ranking in the ACC, so low. Otherwise you’re just begging people to bet on that roster.

Holstein has to get a lot better. At one point during ACC play he had like a 50-something passing grade on PFF. Which is a replacement level grade.

He can’t be even in the hemisphere of that bad during conference play.

This is all true. He reminded me a lot of Kenny his first few years as a starter… showed some great flashes, but also had some glaring gaffes.

I just hope Holstein stays long enough that we can see it all come together.
