This game honestly might be the most valuable ticket in all of college football this season.

Right now, the cheapest non-single in the house is $230. In comparison, Auburn @ Alabama is $250 and Michigan @ Ohio State is $297.64. However, those games each have more than 2000 tickets remaining on Stubhub (Pitt/PSU has 595) and considering that secondary market values typically fall as the game nears, prices for those games should be less than that in October and November.

It is ashame this rivalry game will after 2019. It truly is one of the best in college football.

I have to admit though, its hard to imagine many non-season ticket holder Pitt fans spending $500 for 2 uppers to this game. I'd have to imagine the vast majority of secondary market purchasers are PSU fans. Pitt fans have their tickets and the casuals will watch on TV.

Here you go with your hyperbole again. Using the cheapest price is hardly the best indicator. Use average ticket price and compare. Plus, no matter what, the game is now only 24 days away. Check the OSU/Michigan and Bama/Auburn ticket market on Nov. 1 and it will be a much different story.

Do you know "might be" means? I did not have the time to add up the thousands of tickets listings for all games to determine the highest average price. I looked at the least expensive ticket and said "might be."

As for the number of days before the game, as I said secondary market values normally fall, not rise as the game nears.

Well, I know this isnt representative, but I just got 4 2 weeks ago, for my 3 sons and I for 100 dollars total off a Pitt season ticket holder that cant go.

I still think, day of the game, you will be able to get scalper tickets for under face value. I also still think it will be mostly Pitt fans. I have a dozen or so UPS alumni friends, and none of them are going. They said they didnt want to go because they see Pitt fans as Pitt sees WVU fans... and maybe so, I am sure it will be a high stress level game and Pitt fans may get out of hand. I was thinking of not even taking my kids, but geez, it's Pitt/PennState, I have to. I hope there is good sportsmanship in the stands.

I agree that it will be mostly Pitt fans, but you're not going to be getting tickets for less than face value.

Do not disagree that it will be a valuable ticket. However, you must also consider that season football ticket holders still do not have their tickets--so to the extent they have extra tickets to sell--that inventory is not posted to StubHub yet. Check StubHub on Monday or Tuesday once season ticket holders have their tickets--I expect you will find a larger inventory available. So you might want to wait for a couple days before drawing too many conclusions. Hail to Pitt!

Technically this isn't true. I don't know when exactly it happened, but if you go to your account on the Pitt web site all game tickets ARE available to be sold on StubHub now.

Agree, the values are insane right now and definitely no game has come close for demand since 2005 ND opener. Actually not agreeing to or at least not announcing any more future games is not hurting either.

Your belief that Pitt PSU is the most expensive ticket this season is truly hilarious

Well, it's way too early to make any sort of statement like this at all and in the end it is very unlikely to be true, but right now there are more than 700 tickets available on StubHub for the Clemson - Florida State game that are cheaper than the cheapest ticket available for the Pitt - Penn State game.

Yea that was a weird statement. You can get into Clemson @ FSU much cheaper than Penn State @ Pitt.

Yea that was a weird statement.

For the record, it was your statement that the Pitt - Penn State ticket would be the most valuable based on the resale market that I was referring to. Something like that would be determined based on the price of the tickets leading up to the game, not on the price in the middle of August. Some of the games you are talking about are three months away. What difference does it make what the resale market is for those games today? When they talk about this kind of thing for Super Bowl tickets they are strictly talking about the price and availability in the week or so leading up to the game. No one cares what the market looks like three months ahead of time.

I find it funny how just a year ago we were selling primetime UNC tickets for $6. Let that sink it... It's crazy! I don't even think Steeler tickets cost that much in the upper deck. But that's the beauty of capitalism :)

Actually, technically it is true--my tickets are not in my possession, so it is entirely accurate to say I do not have them. So be sure, there are plenty of people that have no idea their tickets may be available on line--and consequently have not posted extras for sale on StubHub. Hail to Pitt!

The fact that you do not physically have the tickets in your hand is no impediment at all to you selling them on StubHub right now. You don't need to have the physical ticket to sell it on StubHub, which I am sure that you know. Just because you don't "have" them doesn't mean that you don't "have" them. So the fact is that EVERY Pitt season ticket holder, including you, could have literally EVERY single ticket up for sale on StubHub right now.

Of course you know all that, but why admit it when you can deny, deny, deny?
