Kind of surprised we haven't done this yet. I'll start.

I'm going with 7-5 (5-3). Feels realistic. It's the kind of year where Pitt gets over the hump against UNC and turns around and lays an egg against VaTech. As usual, OOC is a killer. Can't even take Ohio lightly. A lot will depend on Pickett and just how good this defense will be. Hope I'm wrong. 8-4 plus a bowl win would feel like a step forward.

VT will more than likely be favored over us, so I’m not sure how that would be considered laying an egg.

8 or more wins. I wanted to throw a little coin on Pitt to win the Coastal this weekend, but at only 4-1 odds, I thought better of it.

7-5, with a bowl win to finish 8-5. I'm not predicting it or anything, but there's a chance that Kenny Pickett could be objectively bad, and this season absolutely falls apart at the seams. There's also no way in the world that our o-line isn't going to struggle. You just don't replace four starters and not struggle. I'd have felt more comfortable with two OL grad transfers, as opposed to another linebacker, but it is what it is.

All things considered, I think 8-5 is a pretty optimistic prediction, and I think most would be satisfied with it.

9-3 The stretch plan. Exceed expectations, good bowl maybe a bowl win
8-4 The achievable plan. With a bowl win
7-5 Needs Improvement with a bowl win
7-5 Underperform with a bowl loss
6-6 Unacceptable. Lyke get out the broom, its time to clean house, and noone will care about the bowl game or anything else about the program if they go 6-6.
Time to launch a PITT badminton team, bring back tennis they can play in Heinz field, or maybe lets try Cricket.

9-4 (bowl win). Best staff and most talented roster in years. If they win 6 or 7 games we have a problem internally. At this point (year 5) everyone needs to be bought in and focused to make the next step. Pitt doesn’t have unique problems, it’s time to win.

I was speaking more about just being flat. But yes, unlikely Pitt is a favorite.

I believe Pitt was a 9-point dog when the lines came out a few months ago, or whenever that was, which I found to be a bit absurd. Obviously that line will change before the game is played (well, most likely), but I still don't really understand how it could have been +9.

VaTech is like the poor mans Michigan. They always get a ton of preseason love and struggle to live up to the hype.

7-6. (7-5 regular season and another bowl loss) As stated above, Pickett's play will determine how good this team can be. Although, I guess a lot rides on the new OC.

I will go with the Sagarin pre-season ratings for now. They predict between 6-6 and 5-7 as shown below (and 4-4 or 3-5 ACC). Hoping we look far better vs Virginia than Sagarin's Pitt by 2 and especially far better than the gamblers' prediction of Virginia by 2 .

GAME Sagarin Prediction W-L Record

H--UVA Pitt +2 1-0
H--Ohio Pitt +7 2-0
A--PSU PSU +11 2-1
H--UCF UCF +2 2-2
H--Delaware Pitt +25 3-2
A--Duke Duke +1 3-3
A--Syracuse Cuse +7 3-4
H--Miami Miami +1.5 3-5
A--GA Tech Tossup 4-5 (or 3-6)
H--UNC Pitt + 5.5 5-5 (or 4-6)
A--VA Tech VA Tech +4 5-6 (or 4-7)
H--BC Pitt +4 6-6 (or 5-7)

Agree it comes down to Pickett, but I don’t have faith. I hope I eat crow, but Voytik had better numbers at his time here than Pickett does currently, and we know how that played out with him.

You really hung yourself out there with this one. You sure you want to take such a bold stand?

Jesus this fan base is beaten down... Guys! They went 6-2 while barely completing a forward pass! The ACC Coastal is not exactly a powerhouse division. We’re playing an FBS team, a MAC team and an AAC team w/ a starting QB who’s stats aren’t anywhere near as good as Kenny’s!

If there’s not another 5 wins on a schedule w/ Duke (minus Daniel Jones), UNC (true freshman QB! All new staff), UVA(we own and at home), GT (shambles) and a scrapper against BC or Miami in year 5, shudder this bitch.

We have the most talented team we’ve had since Wanny. The best defensive backfield in the ACC. We finally have a complete staff. I get that there’s question marks but as FANS, we have to raise the expectations to at least that of the coaches and kids.

This post raised my spirits a bit. Makes a lot of sense.

10-2. We're going to have some big wins, i dont know who yet (cough cough PSU) but there's going to be 1 shocker. This team's defense is going to be lights out for the most part and the coastal will give us life. I thought it would be Miami's for the taking but after seeing them crap the bed this weekend, its ours right now. I put $100 for the them defend it this weekend at the rivers. I cant freaking wait for Monday. HAIL TO PITT!!!!!

UVA - L
Ohio - W
PSU - L
UCF - L
Delaware - W
Duke - W
Syracuse - W
Miami - L
GT - W
UNC - W
VT - L
BC - W

7-5 (5-3) Will win bowl game to finish 8-5.
Schedule is difficult not quite as tough as last year ooc but I think some teams in the coastal will be much better, Miami and va. We split those two last year I think chances are we lose both this year. 2-2 OOC 1-1 vs SU AND BC. So 3-3 outside the coastal Duke, NC, GT could be wins but I think we go 2-1 to be 5-4. VT, MIAMI and VA could all be losses but I think we get one to be 6-6. I would not be surprised if we only win 4 or 5. I also wouldn't be stunned if we win 9 or 10. I am not sure if ucf, PSU and VA are as good as they are be billed.

One thing is this season will not be over if they start 1-3 and it won't be a guaranteed success if they start 3-1. Three of the first 4 opponents could end up top 20 teams or none could end the season ranked
