just about every account and every major coach tweeted good luck Here we Go during this playoff run. And what do we get in return? Tomlin taking pics with duzz and Jimmy and tweeting "on the fence"
Tomlin has been very accessible and helpful to Pitt, eapecially when recruits are visiting.
There's a lot to criticize Tomlin for, but not his relationship with Pitt. He has been excellent.
Minor as in petty. We see posts and tweets all the time of how great the Steelers are in interacting with Pitt coaches, players and recruits. Not criticizing him in general, just in relation to the tweet. Its a minor thing but still odd for as much as the Steelers and Pitt are partners.
Having our own stadium on campus, but still losing and having poor recruiters, will not help attract recruits any more than our situation now. Proof? The ~20 years before we moved to Heinz. You all still don't get it. It does not matter how much or how little love the Steelers show to Pitt. Playing in their stadium and the Rooney practice facility makes Pitt look small. Almost no recruit is going to choose Pitt because they practice next to the Steelers or because Tomlin mentions Pitt in some tweets.

If only a tiny bit, the relationship (whether superficial) with the Steelers is one thing we actually have that nobody else does. 99 out of 100 likely don't care but if one does...why begrudge?

Really man. Do you read anything on recruits ? Hate to make a sells pitch but go to Pittsburghsportsnow and read on Pitt recruiting you will see you are absolutely wrong. You all still don't get it. Almost every recruit mentions Pitt's association with the Steelers as a big factor.
As a matter of fact Pinnock stated that a big reason he flipped from BC is because his mother is a BIG Antonio Brown and Steeler fan, and Proctor mentioned that impressed him.
Maybe you should open your eyes before opening your mouth and inserting foot.
I don't believe for a second that a commit chose Pitt because he ran into Antonio Brown (which actually happened at the Cathedral of Learning, according to the article). If the shared facilities made a difference, then it wouldn't have been 10 years since Pitt last cracked the top 30 in the recruiting rankings. The truth is that the shared facilities isn't nearly the benefit to recruiting many make it out to be.
We have not cracked the top 30 in recruiting because we have had 4 coaches in 8 yrs plus 3 interim coaches.
Did the Steelers stop practicing during those years?
