Pitt 8 Nd 5 Final. Dani was strong in relief.First ACC win.
Dropped a DH to NC on Easter Sunday.
Now 2-9 in ACC play and 17-17 overall.
Supposed to play an away game Tuesday at Saint Francis in Loretto PA.

Wild win for the softball team tonight over Georgia Tech. Pitt gives up a run in the first, then comes back with a six run second to go up 6-1. Tech gets a run without getting a hit in the 3rd, and follows that up with five runs on four hits in the 4th to take a 7-6 lead. Pitt gets two runs in the 5th on three walks and a double to take the lead back, 8-7. Tech scores two in the top of the 7th to take the lead, 9-8, but Pitt got a bases loaded, one out double play to end the inning. With one out in the bottom of the 7th Haylie Brunson hit a home run to tie the game at 9. And then Bailey Drapola led off the bottom of the 8th with a walk off home run.

They should have won today. Ump blew a call at the plate where Pitt would have scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th. They went to replay, and to me, the Pitt baserunner clearly looked safe, as it did to the announcing crew. Then Pitt ended up losing 13-11 in 10 innings. Stranded a ton of runners on base.
Pitt also blew a couple of rundowns that ultimately led to GT runs. So really lots of blame to go around.
4.5 hour game. Started an hour before the Spring Game and didn't end until after it was over.

They said there was some sort of technical difficulty where the umps could not see various replays of the play, so inconclusive to overturn play.
That said, what a clownshoes game by both teams. Two of the worst teams in the ACC each trying to give the game to the other, but the other didn't want it!
GT finally decided they'd accept the gift, and took the win to stay just above the elimination line for the ACC playoffs, ahead of Pitt for the last spot.
Rubber game of this high scoring no pitching series tomorrow. Oh the suspense!!!!
Wonder who will pitch for Pitt because they burned another 6 innings out of their premier starter trying to win this one.
They should have just borrowed someone in the crowd's phone and called up the ACCNX on it, because it was pretty obvious that she was safe.
These last two games are what happens when two teams who can't pitch play a series.

Pitt's starting pitcher had to be gassed pitching 3 days in a row. Finally blinked in the 6th.

Was at the game today, Pitt literally had 3 balls die at the warning track today. They square those up even a little bit better, and it’s a completely different story

She pitched in both ends of the doubleheader today. Pitched the 7th and got the save in the first game, started and pitched the first six for the win in the second game.
Guess if they played in the MAC or NEC or Colonial league, they'd be tearing it up.

She has to be fired after the season ends. There is no reason to keep her.
