First things first. MJ was never going to come to Pitt if he had another option. First he was WVU 's to lose, they decided they did not want him, then it was OSU, they did not want him. So Pitt was basically the last one standing. The coaching staff did nothing wrong, and I mean nothing wrong. They recruited the kid hard. When Pitt was the last one standing the family did everything to find a different destination. The family made a phone call to the Ketucky basketball coach to make contact with the football.program. That shows you they never, never wanted to end up at Pitt. Again the Pitt staff recruited him hard, that is all they can do. I will say this, I truly believe with the new hires that this is the best staff to be at Pitt in a very long time. They have two very good recruiters now with Charlie and the new receive coach. They have a very smart and experienced OC and PN finally has the talent in the secondary to run his type of defense. Do I think we are on the verge of becoming the next Clemson ? Absolutely not, but this is probably the most talent Pitt has had on the roster in a long time. We will be very young on offense, but we will have a ton of speed and talent. Defensively we will have the most talent since the mid 80's. Do we need to improve our recruiting? Absolutely, but we are heading in the right direction. We have to.hit the MD, Florida area hard..I have coached over the past 2t years in the WPIAL and the talent is at an all time low and there is not of talent coming through the next three years. Again I truly think this is the strongest staff at Pitt in a very long time, let's them see what they can do the next two-three years and see where they can take the program.
