In this tweet from today(10/17/2024) from the Athletics department X account they changed the graphic from saying 7,000 to "Limited quantities available" so maybe they put a rush order in on some additional units(or maybe someone dropped and broke a pallet of them and there are even less now)?

It takes months to get those things made, so it's almost certainly not a rush order. More likely, someone is seeing people comment on how few they are actually giving away and said "hey, dummies, why are we telling people exactly how few of these there are? That's not going to help attendance when people realize they probably aren't going to get one. Take that number off that promo."
