Guillermo and Jaland Lowe the 2 best players for Pitt in that first half. Guillermo only playing 12 minutes in that first half was inexcusable. 7 points to lead Pitt in scoring, and +1 in the box, team best. Jaland Lowe in full command off the bench. Jeff Capel needs to take the leash off already and give this kid some run. He looked great that half. Lowe buried both short range jumpers, and I expect this trend to continue as I said previously that his short shots were barely rimming out and he would hit them at a much higher rate. Lowe with 2 more assists and 0 turnovers, his ball control and assist to turnover ratio has remained Elite and on fire 5 games and counting.
Carrington and Hinson are a combined 4-15 shooting. Most of those looks were wide open for both players so the failure is on them and not Jeff Capel's offense. Hinson was out of control on multiple drives to the basket. If these 2 think they are NBA players, they better start making these shots more often than missing against good teams. This isn't NC a&t any more. These looks were clean and should have been made.
Jeffress and Jorge with both questionable and poor shot selection. Both players need to dial it down and wait for better opportunities to shoot and not be selfish. We cant burn valuable possessions with poor shots. Pass the ball.
We should be winning this game. The responsibility is not on Jeff Capel to make wide open looks. Hinson and Carrington, Im talking to you, step it up.
