Seems very Ellison-like. Put up average stats on a really bad P6 team for 2 years. Not sure I understand this unless he gets immediate eligibility somehow. He's from Texas and is also considering SMU and Baylor. I mean O'Toole coached him so he obviously thinks he can play for us but if we have to give a scholarship to a Cal player to sit out a year then I'm not sure that's a good sign

He’s better than Ellison, and would be a decent get. I’m sure someone will pull up his stats and say I’m wrong, but I thought he was a better player as a freshman than he was last year.

Head scratcher...but only because Sy is visiting Pitt 4/11 and the home visit with McNeil is 4/11. Maybe just O'Toole visiting McNeil?

Wouldn't mind more so Justice Sueing. Also, Pitt needs guards on the roster in 2019 and moving forward. Who knows, X could be gone after this season ( I hope not, but he has expressed interests in not being a 4 year player).

I would gladly take both players from Cal, especially if they are immediately eligible

Immediately eligible, oh hell yes. But I highly doubt they will be, unless there are extenuating circumstances. Both sophomores, from Texas and Hawaii. We will see. Pitt has plenty of scholarships to take a sit and play transfer.

It seemed to me that more than half of regular transfers to ACC schools were given waivers last season. The waivers did seem to come very late in the process.

Why compare to Ellison? This guy is a 6-3 PG not a forward. What he looks like on paper is a potential N'Dir clone and likely is being recruited primarily for his ball skills to play the point with shooting percentage being a secondary consideration.

Only SMF would compare a 6'3 guard who primarily shoots 3s to a 6'6 wing who can't shoot at all. If you're only looking at pts/40, they probably look very similar. If your eyes can detect and follow motion, however, it's nonsensical.

I meant more because he posted "just ok" numbers for one of the worst P6 programs over his first 2 years.

He has more turnovers than assists and doesn't shoot well from the line.
Perfect for Pitt.
