Pitt vs Pennsylvania Western

Pitt is skipping the D1 scrimmage this year and playing 2 of the 3 Penn West campuses in exhibtions. Clarion and Edinboro. BTW, Penn West is such a stupid name for a college. Sounds like a utility company. Should have been the University of Western Pennsylania or UWP.

“PennWest” is a name for a college that could have only been created in the mind of some seven-figure consultant somewhere.

Pennsylvania West University is a pretty terrible name. If they were going to go that route, name is Pennsylvania University - West. The other one is Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania so they couldn't even be bothered to standardize the names.

Commonwealth does sound better though, like Western Commonwealth University.

or why not WPU, like Western Michigan U or East Carolina U or West Texas State or any other directional University
