At risk of sounding like SMF…

Would this be that crazy of an idea next Fall? Would have been better if it were a national title rematch…but what would an early season match up draw in your eyes? Pittsburgh loves events and this would be a cool event. Could it get above 30K and fill most of the lower bowl at Acrisure? 35K and close to selling out PNC?

Would love to see some additional revenue flow into the program. Not sure how much it costs to use Acrisure or PNC for a day. In the very least it’s great exposure.

It's a fun idea but I don't see it happening.

I’ve thought about this a bit since the Nebraska outdoor match. I think it might take a couple more years of success to pull in a stadium-sized crowd. Remember: even Nebraska didn’t think at first that they could fill a stadium on a weeknight; they put the floor by the end zone and were counting on a concert to draw more folks. But never underestimate the craziness of Nebraska fans.

The tough part logistically is scheduling. Nebraska had full control of its stadium. Pitt would need to contend with the Pirates, Steelers, concerts and Pitt’s own football schedule. Could be tough to thread the needle to even find a date that satisfies everyone.

Playing Penn State helped us break our attendance record this season. I wouldn’t mind playing a game at Bryce Jordan Center in 2025 to help them break theirs, then going for a big crowd at PPG in 2026.

I've already said this. Should be every year at Acrisure on the Sunday of Ribfest. Or maybe you play that one at PNC Park and then have the soccer teams play at Acrisure for a full Pitt/PSU Challenge Day.

Also, you make a day of it. Have some WPIAL teams play before. Have Duq play RMU, some local D2/3 games. Would be an awesome event.

PPG would make more sense and see how that goes attendance wise.
