This is going to be a somewhat longer detailed post for those that are coming down to Orlando OR are thinking about coming down to the game.
First we at the Orlando Alumni are setting up a Friday evening event. There will still be the usually Alumni event pregame, but we have had a lot of outreach locally and from those coming to the game about interest in a Friday event as well. This event is to be held at http://www.fieldhouseorlando.com/ one of the Managers is a big Pitt fan! We are looking at starting that event around 6:00. This is an on your own event as in you will take care of your own bill, but will be a gathering of Pitt fans and alums who want to attend.
Does this interest any of those that are going or thinking about going to the event on here? Thanks!
Brief Orlando/Park details for those that are coming down or looking to come down (please ask any questions or leave comments and I will try and respond about the area the best I can):
Disney:
The name and everything speaks for itself. There is plenty of information online about Disney but I will give any insider pointers I can for those that want to ask or have questions. One thing I would highlight is Epcot is going to be having their food and wine festival at that time and that means Concerts included in your admission price. See food and wine and concert information here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/e...-wine-festival/?CMP=ILC-DPFY18Q2wo0308180014A
Concert schedule here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/epcot/food-wine-eat-to-the-beat-concerts/
Universal:
The name once again I will let speak for itself. I would recommend getting the park to park (park hopper) ticket here more than disney especially those that are Harry Potter fans so you can ride the Hogwarts Express. Once again I will offer up any insider pointers and comments for anyone requesting them, but there is a lot online. I would focus here if you want to look up information online: https://orlandoinformer.com/
Just like Disney Universal will be deep in one of its specials this being Halloween Horror Nights. Truly a spectacular experience for those into things like this. It is my favorite "event" at any of the parks down here. https://orlando.halloweenhorrornights.com/site/
SeaWorld:
SeaWorld people may know less about, but also may have less interest or questions about, but I will answer any questions or comments here as well. SeaWorld has the best Coasters in the parks in Orlando. It is much more kid friendly and wallet friendly versus the other parks. They have Halloween Spooktacular which is much more kid friendly as well and not an extra charge (HHN is extra and Mickeys not so scary party is extra) also a nice way to trick r treat. https://seaworld.com/orlando/events/halloween-spooktacular/
BEER:
Orlando has an ale trail with 17 local breweries featured. This is self explanatory, but I will try and give opinions on any of the locations of the ones I have been too or at least the beers I have tried from these places. http://centralfloridaaletrail.com/
I do subcontracting work for the parks so, there are many Pitt designed and Engineered things in and around the parks for those that are interested I can share what those things are or you can just imagine for yourselves.
I will try and bump this thread every now and then, but if someone wants to DM me with more specific information or anything else like food, hotel, location, etc options I can offer them here or through DM. I really hope a TON of Pitt fans take advantage and come down to this travel hot bed.
Hail To Pitt and hope to see and meet a lot of you down here in the fall!
