Pitt women basketballers got stomped at No. 21 ND this afternoon 85-59.

Turnovers continue to kill Pitt. Pitt had 27 to ND’s 12. Way too many possessions given away, leading to too many offensive dry spells.

Interesting that ND’s two best players appear to be freshman. How’s this for the ND freshman PG’s line:
8-15 shooting
3-7 from three
6 rebounds
11 assists
6 steals
1 turnover

Pretty impressive.

Pitt played all 13 players as Coach White continues to search for who will step up the offensive end - my take…. Pitt not getting much production from their centers against the better competition…

Go Pitt.

Go Pitt.
ND has talent, yes, but they
work the ball, spread the floor,
and stay disciplined. Run when
it's there, and settle when it's
not. Their bigs get position,
are fed good passes, and
they actually catch the ball.

Pitt again, totally outta
control on offense. The
racehorse, up and down the
floor does not work against
talented well coached teams.
The turnovers (27) is almost
incomprehensible. Here's
an example, we cut the lead
to 13 in the second half,
Hayford dribbles into the
lower corner of the lane
baseline and comes to a
complete stop, looks up
and now what? They double
her and once again...TO. I
posted the exact same thing
last game. Next time down the
floor, down by 15...she goes
fast break 1 against 2, and
takes it to the hole. Pull it
back out and settle right?
Nope she forces a no hope
shot. She's not being taught,
and she remains on the floor
after these mistakes.
Trying to catch up, we
double out front. Same as
last week, they beat the
double, pass to wide open
player, she hits a 3. We
are not being taught how
to rotate off of a double.

Sorry gang, but I see this as
coaching. White has had his
players going helter skelter
two years now. Hayford's
not alone in this. Many passes
on the run to moving players.
Over and over we show that
we can't handle this style.

I feel bad for these girls. We
have some talent, and a lot of
depth. Capel can't get talented
players here. White can, but
I'm more and more convinced
he doesn't know what to do
with them.
