Just happened to notice that the women's team has posted their roster for the 2015-2016 season. The good news - no bad surprises. The 6'11" Bubbles Anderson is listed - she will be a RS Jr. -- so two years left to play unless she is granted an extra year.

No seniors on the team. Which means that not this season, but next season, this team could be really, really good.

With Bubbles (6'11"), Stasha Carey (6'2") and freshmen Kauai Bradley (6'0"), Brenna Wise (6'0") and Kalista Walters (listed as 6'0" - thought she was taller?), Pitt now has 5 players listed as 6 feet or taller. Plus Fred Potvin and transfer Destinie Gibbs are listed as 5-11 and Yacine Diop is listed as 5-10 - so the Panthers will have good size.

Looking down the road, the biggest recruiting need looks like a 6-4, 6-5 post player.

The roster lists 12 players - all on scholarship. Coach Suzie's daughter, Jordan, who was needed last season because of the small number of players available, is not listed.

Will be fascinating to see what Coach Suzie and her staff can do with group - with 5 freshmen, 1 transfer, and 2 players who sat out last season with injuries, only 4 of the 12 players actually played for Pitt last season (Bugg, Diop, Carey, Potvin).

Go Pitt.

Think she went JUCO which means she could not cone to Pitt for another year. Has to graduate JUCO first.

Yeah, as far as I know, Naje Gibson is still at Florida State College, a JUCO in FLA. I understand she has to graduate with a 2.5 grade average to be eligible - so that would mean she'd be here for the 2016-2017 season. By then, I really think this Pitt team will be a contender for the ACC championship - especially if Bubbles can stay healthy and get some experience this season.

And Naje is another athletic player who is listed at 6"1". If I recall correctly, she was the highest rated of the 4 freshmen originally signed for last season. Considering how Diop, Carey and Bugg played last season, that's saying something.

Here's a tidbit from Naje's final JUCO game of the year from last season - her team is called the "Lady Bluewave":

"However, it was the dynamic duo of the future that led the ladies to victory. Naje Gibson had a double-double with 24 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. DeAngela Mathis gave us a great preview of next season with 21 points and eight rebounds."

Go Pitt.
