Coach Pat was on the Bob Pompeni Show, talked about how Canada did want to leave NCS and wanted to come to Pitt! Moreover, talked about how it is important to get Assistant Coaches that want to stay and do not want to keep moving around like Canada did the last 4 years. Coach Pat went on and talked about how important its to find Assistants that will stay on the Staff to stabilize build a Football Program and has his in place to now at Pitt without ripping on Chaney!

Coach Pat talked about how much he appreciated Chaney at Pitt and told him he will always be part of Pitt Football for coming here with him and contributed to rebuilding the Pitt Program!

Clearly, from my view and listening to Narduzzi voice full of character, confidence, and convictions that he not only wants to stay at Pitt a long time but wants his Assistants too to make Pitt a Top 25 Program. Coach Pat talked about how Coaches and Wives and Families hate moving and and having to find New Homes and Canada mentioned that too, is why he wanted to be at Pitt working with Coach Pat & Staff and has the support of Chancellor Gallagher & A.D. Barnes in making that happen.

Coach Pat talked in glowing term about Pitt's OC Canada wanting to be at Pitt and will continue to develop Pitt Pro Set Offense with Running and Passing Attacks he did at Wisky, NIU, and NCS! Sounded like to me, that although he did not want to lose Chaney he still is very happy to have Canada with him at Pitt, and for a long time!

It looks more and more right on when Jim Tressel of Youngstown Roots and now at YSU said, "Pitt has found a Coach that wants to coach at Pitt a long time!"

Coach Pat said, once you establish your System and Program somewhere, Coaches want to stay there and build there, not move around. There is no doubt that Coach Pat Narduzzi wanted the Pitt Job and is very happy to be near Pittsburgh-Youngstown Region, as well, a place he knows and loves too.

It is in Coach Narduzzi's voice much like Wannstedt's Plans for Pitt's Program, unlike Steve Pederson, Walt Harris, Mike Haywood, Toad Graham or Paul Chryst's comments that one could tell was not as sincere with less cheer.

Finally, it is reflection on Chancellor's Gallagher Visiosn for Pitt as well as A.D Barnes response in including Pitt Alumni, Fans, and listening to the Pitt Coaches needs as they all Rebuild the Pitt Program!

Even better than I recall what happen under Posvar, Myslinski, Majors and Sherrill in the 1970s?

Chancellor Posvar and Cas Myslinski were much older than Gallagher and Barnes and once they rebuilt Pitt Program Cas retired and Posvar put it is the hands of A.D. Bozo Bozik, that caused its demise?

Coach Pat is from the region and had a goal in coming home and wants to stay in this region. Unlike Johnny Majors that came to go back to UTenn and Jackie Sherrill, that moved on to get away from Bozo Bozik and take on new challenges at A&M for a far bigger salary offered than any coach that time?

Both Majors and Sherrill later said and wrote in their books, their biggest regrets in their Coaching Careers was leaving Pitt and both badly wanted to come back to Pitt, Majors did but Jackie was rejected by Posvar's successor.

Coach Pat Narduzzi is bent on not leaving what he is helping to rebuild at Pitt, this is what I heard in his voice and it is with conviction and confidence and we know of his Character as a Coach at MSU as DC and now Pitt too!

Pomp asked him what the biggest hurdle was last year. Narduzzi responded with moving and buying and selling homes. Says he will not be uprooting his family again anytime soon

Thanks, you quoted it far better than my para-phrasing of Coach Pat talking about it! Did you feel it and hear it in his voice too???? I did!!!

This is from a Coach's Son that came from Steel Country Region and stayed at MSU and turned down other jobs, until Pitt came a calling!!!

It is my opinion, when Chaney left, Coach Pat made a comment in the Media he want an OC that wants to stay with him at Pitt too, just like you posted Coach Pat talked about the biggest hurdle is "moving"?

I think Canada is his man on that aspect and looks like they want to do it together and not a band-aide for a time being?
