May I introduce the The University of Pittsburgh Panthers by Land, Air, and Blitzkrieg!
Pitt OLs & RBs By Land
No one has more respect for Pitt quarterback Nathan Peterman than the coach who made him a starter last year. But if Pat Narduzzi was forced to design a defense to stop the Panthers offense — in other words, if he hypothetically were thrust into the role Villanova will assume Saturday at Heinz Field — he knows what he would do. “I would try to stop the run and load the box up (with an extra defender or two),” he said. “Make us beat you with the pass.” But he amended that statement slightly, adding, “That's scary, too, because you have Nathan Peterman sitting there. Pick your poison.”
Although it's difficult to put a label on a team that hasn't played a game, Pitt might be developing an offensive philosophy that emphasizes the ground game until the defense proves it can stop it. At his first weekly news conference of the season Monday, Narduzzi released a depth chart that listed running backs Chawntez Moss (a freshman), Darrin Hall and Qadree Ollison — in no certain order — behind 2014 ACC Player of the Year James Conner. Who will be first off the bench when coaches decide to rest Conner? Good question. Narduzzi has no interest in answering that question before Saturday...............

“Luckily, we have a quarterback who's going to be able to make some plays if they put a whole bunch of people in the box to stop the run,” he said. Even without Tyler Boyd. “We're not too concerned with necessarily replacing Boyd's production,” Ford said. “But at the same time, we need to put out more.”
