I posted earlier in another thread on here that living in eastern PA, I am unfamiliar with
Filliponi, the FAN, and other western PA announcers and outlets. I admit I haven't heard any of
their reports, but if they didn't think Pitt showed up today (after
losing a few in a row) then they're blind, deaf, and dumb.... or worse.
Pitt outplayed, outworked, out hustled, and basically willed their way to a win in a very, very tough atmosphere.
I've been critical of our play recently and thought maybe our players "packed it in" and were maybe just
playing out the season. Pitt looked like the team we saw earlier in the year, and it wasn't because the Cuse
isn't good. They've been on a roll recently (since Boheim returned) and were favored to win today.
Not sure what those announcers are thinking, but I can't comprehend that they're not supporting the
local team and recognizing today's win for what it is. I guess I'm lucky I can't tune in and listen to em even if I wanted to LOL.

Filliponi does the pre-game show with Julius Page. IMO, their show is okay but not really must listen radio.

'Poni is a knowledgeable basketball pundit but I am not sure about his feel for this PITT BB team these days. He called for a 20 point/blow out win over Wake Forest (prior to game) and then picked SU to win today (he is an SU alum). Nonetheless, he was wrong on both accounts this week. Still, his acuity for hoops is among the best on the FAN along with Zeise.

Poni is an immature and childish. He shouldn't be anywhere near a Pitt broadcast for any sport (football or basketball). His bias for Syracuse disqualifies him as a legitimate broadcaster during Pitt events. Besides, anyone that needs to shill for a gentlemen's club truly needs to grow up. Didn't he get arrest on Villanova's campus for egging statues or something?? Come on, the guy is nothing but a jerk. He has no "acquity", just a smart ass attitude.
