Pol Planellas invited to MLS combine

Not only has Pitt never had an MLS player, they've never even had a player invited to the combine.

I'd be surprised if Planellas isn't on an opening day roster. Looks like he can be a very solid MLS player. Though making a roster and sticking around will be more difficult for him since international spots are limited.

I've said before that I get emails from MLS all the time because I once took my son to a Columbus Crew game. Today they sent an email with all sorts of links about the draft. They had someone who did a mock draft of the first round, and he had Planellas going to Atalanta with the 14th pick overall. Atlanta's coach was the coach at Barca for some of the time that Planellas was in their youth system.
