He's a good young coach.
He also has no real tie to Pitt so is far from a slam dunk.
The McConnell's and Miller's are related to each other, and the majority of their family lives in the area. They are a tight knit family. I actually ran into John Miller at Graham Park in Cranberry this summer. He is still running some clinics in the area. I think Archie would take the job.

John ran kids away from Pitt for years.
Archie went to ncsu instead of Pitt as a player.

I think you may be over estimating the interest...Dayton isn't exactly far from his family

We only have room for 1 more player next year, assuming no one leaves in a surprise.
Well that is not good news for JD and fans next year, a senior lead front court backed by a freshmen and a sophomore PG and a freshmen SG and redshirt freshmen C assuming there is only one opening for next year or maybe attrition will take place for more openings

Please do run the same poll after the next big win (whenever that happens). I predict that the results will be the same as they are now. Opinions that fans have these days have been formulated through this decade, not just in the past week. The teens have not been nearly as good as the 2000's.

Even after an embarrassing home loss to a last place team..... 64% of the respondents want to keep Jamie Dixon for at least a few more years.
I refused to vote. Crapola. No definition of "there". Just jackal fodder.

thinking in terms of a national championship is actually quite silly. Jamie can be a great coach and not win a title... for those of you who think he should go, here's a list of coaches who have won since he became head coach in 2003:
Jim Boeheim
Jim Calhoun (twice)
Roy Williams (twice)
Billy Donovan (twice)
Bill Self
Mike Krzyzewski (twice)
John Calipari
Rick Pitino
Kevin Ollie

You could make a case that Dixon might be a better coach than Ollie, but it would be laughable to say he's better than the rest. The key here people is this: unless you can get someone who's a significant upgrade... you probably won't see the end result. There's a reason the same people win over and over again.

It'll be interesting to see how Ollie maintains the UConn program. He's recruiting really well.
