ACC Basketball is historically bad and there doesn't seem to be a way out as the league cant seem to afford to hire proven coaches or buy enough good players. There was an article written where the ACC only got something like 1 or 2 of the Top 30 transfers, and those were ACC to ACC transfers. Boston College is usually at the bottom of the conference in basketball. To their credit, they've never really completely tanked in football but is their football team doing enough to warrant keeping UConn basketball out? I suspect UConn football can be exactly what BC football is given that ACC TV revenue.
If we count bowl games, BC has lost 6 or more games from 2010-2023 with 2 exceptions. In the Covid Year, they went 6-5 without the opportunity for a bowl loss. In 2018, they went 7-5 without the opportunity for a bowl loss.
For me, if you consider UConn's potential to reach the heights of BC football, I think BC football for UConn football is an even trade. But UConn basketball is infinitely better than BC basketball. I'd do it.
