POLL: What should be done with the board this week?

I always hear from both sides on this throughout the year: do we allow PSU fans to come to this board and engage with Pitt fans? Or should we ban them all, especially this week?

Or, do we continue with the current policy of removing posters from any fanbase if they can't adhere to the base level of civility we ask for on this board?

I've always viewed this board as a place where fans of other schools can come and engage with Pitt fans - knowing there might be some smack talk but having faith that the Pitt fans on the board could handle it in good fun.

there have been some decent PSU posters (step, and a few others) who add insight and helpful info. Then others like hotshoe who want to stir the pot.

But the worse are the trolls like H2Pittisit who claim to Pitt fans but really aren't. They are the ones who need banished.

So if you can keep some of the decent nitters around that is okay.

Ban them all.. but seriously, I generally go to other teams boards to learn more about them. I don't know Pitt's team well other than the handful of "name" players. I'd actually hope you'd ban any fan that can't show some level of civility.. some back and forth is good. I know my Pitt friends and I have gone back and forth for almost 25 years and it always heightens game week. Give some leeway and have some fun.

@Chris Peak, I've always liked how you monitor these boards. You let anyone post until it goes off the rails. I suspect you are going to have a very busy week; hope you don't have any plans or want to spend time with your kids. (And this applies to our own if we lose. Yikes).

I agree with this, specifically the H2Pittisit part. I post on the national board and occasionally you'll see a thread over there like "is Pitt a sleeping giant?" Or "Is the ACC Coastal better than the B1G East?" And goes on to say that he's asking because that's how we, the Lair, feel. Very frustrating.

I've said this before and I'll repeat it again: do what I saw on the Kentucky board about ten years ago.

Which was, place all new posters to the board on probation. All their posts must first be reviewed and approved by a moderator.

If it's clear that they are there to start trouble, ban them.
If it's clear that they are trying to engage in a productive conversation, eventually lift the probation and give full access.
