I am going to leave out the Music City because I don't think they take an ACC team this year after taking 2 in a row.

For me, the only one I wouldn't attend is the Sun Bowl.....though I'd rather play Stanford in the Sun than a JV team from the Big 10 in the Pinstripe. There are so many lightweights in that league, we'd have nothing to gain.

Other: Russell Athletic.

Technically not a "Tier 1" bowl... as it is reserved for the ACCCG loser.... but VT is going to decline it and take one of the four Tier 1 bowls. And the ACC is going to get the Citrus this year because of the near certainty of a B1G team getting into the Orange.

Pitt's chances of playing in the RA Bowl are greater than you think.

I like the Pinstripe Bowl. My main concern is not where or who we play, my main concern is getting the NINTH WIN, and I like NYC at Christmas time. There's even a 10% chance that I would go, that would depend on whether certain other friends go, I could drive there in 4 hours.

I know. I posted that Pitt has a realistic shot at the Citrus or Russell Athletic bowls due to strange circumstances but I didn't include those in the poll because it is obvious every Pitt fan would prefer those bowls. So, if not those 2, then which?

I say TaxSlayer only because I have good buds from my baseball days in Jax and it would be a great time. But, I dont think we end up there, I wish though.

Next will be NYC, cause I would love to pummel another Big Ten school, but I probably wouldnt be able to make it to a game there.

Charlotte would be third, easy to get to and lots to do in that area

El Paso the last, although, this is our likely landing spot, just didnt enjoy the last experience there at all. Although, from the Pitt side of things, everything is run top notch.

Without the Russell Athletic in this poll I'd go:

Pinstripe: It will be a winnable matchup and NYC at this time of year (weather aside) would be cool to visit.

Gator: It has the most prestige and I'd rank it higher, but I just don't see it as a realistic option. For selfish reasons, I can't travel to this game.

Belk: It's an easy destination.

Sun: Not an easy destination to travel to, though, it could potentially have the best matchup.

I don't really care as long as we are playing a quality P5 opponent. A win in the Sun over a team like Stanford or the Russell Athletic vs WVU makes a good season great and probably propels us up a decent ways in the polls. Beating Norhwestern in NYC doesn't prove much. I'd love the 9th win but would prefer it come against a top 25 team.

The bowl that pays the most and one where PITT will chaulk up a win.
My Christmas list for the PITT bowl opponent:

1. QB who is short, slow, weak arm, and cant see well
2. WRers who have damaged face masks from getting hit with footballs and don't run pass routes well
3. RB's who have trouble with numbers, have general comprehension/concentration issues and hit the wrong holes
4. OL who flinch when they hear loud noises, and don't like to be told what to do

That should help us secure a win!

ACC distributes bowl payout equally besides a little extra to cover travel to expensive locations. I think the ACC office even reimburses for unsold bowl tickets.

The payout from the bowl is immaterial. The ACC splits all bowl payouts evenly between the 14 teams, with the exception of paying extra expenses where necessary for travel and such.

Pitt will make the same amount from the bowl payouts as Clemson, as will Syracuse, etc.

i refuse to go to ny again in my life for any reason whatsoever, and i won't go to el paso.
i voted tax slayer but belk would be ok(not happening). RAC is the one i prefer the most as well vs wvu, since we still dont play them for a handful of years it would be a great time for a matchup. send holgy out the way we sent richrod out, with a big L to pitt.

I think travel to Orlando to see Pitt-WVU would be higher than you think.

I'm thinking 10,000 Pitt fans and 30,000 WVU fans.

I agree with those estimates. I dont think VT wants to play WVU 2 games in a row. Its either Pitt or Miami for the RA I think.

So long as Pitt wins the bowl game, I'd be happy with any of these [or others not listed]. Of those in your poll, the only one I have never attended is the Pinstripe. However, with likely cold weather, I'd far prefer Sun Bowl. While Taxslayer/Gator is technically in Florida, Jacksonville is probably the worst venue listed--poor hotels and restaurant choices, and the weather is not really that good. Looking forward to seeing how it all sorts out. Hail to Pitt!

It won't happen. Although, I do hope you're right.

For selfish reason I would like Pinstripe first and then military second and only because I can attend both of these. But I hope the team gets a great bowl the team loves and comes out with a win.
