-Wisconsin has the #13 offense in the country per pomeroy rankings, ahead of Pitt.

-Interestingly enough, Wisconsin shot 35% on offense in a home loss to Western Illinois.

-Wisconsin shot 31% against 1-3 Georgetown in another home loss.

-And Wisconsin is shooting 23% against Oklahoma, and is getting completely annihilated by Oklahoma

-If Wisconsin's offense is better than Pitt, then Pigs officially do fly. Because their offense sucks.

-Again, I am putting 0 weight in regard to these "adjusted" computer rankings by Pomeroy right now. They are useless.

You're just flat out wrong. If Wisconsin's offense does suck, the ratings will eventually reflect that. It's still early in the season and the ratings are weighted by pre-season projections. The teams we've played so far have been awful defensively. Not saying we don't have a really good offense, but I want to see what we do against a team with a defensive pulse. Like Purdue.

I swear, we could schedule a grade school and shoot 80% and you would brag about our offense.

Yeah this feels like a substantial amount of cherry picking.

Don't get me wrong, after years of idiots bitching about the offense it's nice to see it getting undue credit. But it's getting a little ridiculous.

People actually think this is a different offense being run at this point.

Pitt did score 37 points against Gonzaga's defense at halftime. Shot 44% for the half and 40% from 3, making four threes. That was with Artis sitting on the bench the entire first half. Gonzaga's defense is ranked 17th per Pomeroy. I guess you could say the floor helped Pitt score so easily against Gonzaga and it was only 1 half, although that is a reach.

Just my opinion adjusted rankings are worthless.

No offense, but Ken Pomeroy is probably the leading college basketball stats guy out there. He's a nationally respected figure who makes a nice living from his work.

You, on the other hand are just another message board schlepper. Lie anyone else, you are entitled to hold whatever opinion you want. It's pretty obvious whose opinion is worthless and whose isn't.

I would have had said a lot of things that were proven wrong to be considered stupid. By all means, point them out for me.

I post on the regular college basketball board on rivals. You can head over there. Ive said a lot of things before the season even started that were pretty darn dead on. Stop over when you have a chance.

Right. Because everyone knows that scoring 70 points in a 60 possession game is exactly the same as scoring 70 points in an 80 possession game. And scoring 70 points against, say, Kentucky is exactly the same as scoring 70 points against oh, just for fun let's say Central Arkansas.

How can anyone not think those things are true?

Yeah, but he posts on a general college basketball board. Hard to argue with those credentials.

Wisconsin shot 35% and lost to western Illinois. How anyone thought they had a top10 offense in the country after that is blind outside ken pomeroy. At least after today's blowout loss to Oklahoma and that steller shooting percentage of 25%, that will be the last of Wisconsin and having a top 10 offense or top 10 anything this year. Pomeroy was dead wrong.

Who cares if he was dead wrong? I'm sure he'd be the first to say that his preseason projection for them is now proven false. It isn't like he has a boner for Bo Ryan, he uses computer models which, in this one particular instance, weren't accurate. FWIW, his rating for UW has already dropped from #9 overall to #33. That's a pretty steep drop for November.

Right. Similarly in football last season Ohio State lost to a mediocre Virginia Tech team, at home, early in the season. Anyone who thought they were national title contenders was obviously dead wrong.
