We are poorly coached, lack discipline and are mentally weak. We had so many opportunities to win this game tonight and just didn't want it enough.
Every time we seemed to get a little momentum going, we would invariably do something incredibly stupid. Just the T's alone cost us the game. Here are just a few examples:
-X turns the ball over early in game, gets frustrated, picks his man up immediately and fouls the guy before he even crosses half court.
-X hits a big 3 and then gets T'd up for talking trash.
-We have a 1 point lead and the ball and X over penetrates and turns the ball over.
-X makes a big time layup, but everyone else is too busy celebrating to D up on the other end and NC St gets an And 1.
-We finally get a T in our favor and Champ misses both FT's.
We aren't disciplined enough on defense to play a full 30 seconds. We play well for 20 to 25 seconds and then we get lazy, somebody gets best off the dribble and then the D falls apart.
We were attacking them at will in the 2nd half and then wound just settle for jump shots.
And, I can't understand the call to end the game. The ball has to go to X or Champ. Champ was drawing foul after foul in the 2nd half, but we go to Toney who is a human turnover off the dribble.
Super, super frustrating game. Not sure I really care what happens from here on out, but with that said, it would not surprise me one bit if this underachieving team beats FSU on Sat.
