Pitt is #33 in the new Coaches Poll.
#32 is Oregon, who appeared in last year's championship game and was preseason #5.
#31 is Northwestern, the only team to beat #8 Stanford.
#30 is BYU, whose only losses are @UCLA & @Michigan, both back in September
#29 is USC, the only team to beat #14 Utah (who's beaten Michigan, Oregon, & Cal)
#28 is Duke, who is 1 insane return (w/ a knee down on 1 of the laterals) from being top-20
#27 is Navy, whose only loss was @ND
#26 is Wisconsin, whose only losses are to Bama & Iowa (15-1 total)
Not only that, UNC beats us and immediately jumps higher in the rankings than where we were -- not a great consolation, but that is respect. If your immediate reaction is to poo-poo all of the teams listed here, say we have no good wins, say we're probably going to lose our next 2 and at least 1 of the last 2 so we'll be lucky to top 7 wins even with the bowl, please go to one of the numerous other threads that share your SOP opinions.
