Miami HC Manny Diaz has yet to decide if junior WR Jeff Thomas will be able to play in Saturday's game at Pittsburgh after he was suspended for a violation of team rules.
Thomas (5'10/170) was suspended for Miami's overtime loss to Georgia Tech, and his punishment may not be a one-game deal either. "It’s something we’ll find more about today," Diaz told WQAM's Zach Krantz on Monday. "I don’t have the answer on that, but I should know more in the next day or two in terms of his status for this Saturday." The junior wide receiver, who planned on transferring to Illinois after being dismissed from the program by former HC Mark Richt, only to be allowed to rejoin the program by Diaz, has caught 24 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns this season.
