I saw Pitt hang 76 on a Power 5 Syracuse team in which our offense looked about as good as any that I've ever seen in my life. Defense sucks no doubt, but I'm focusing on the positives from a team that went 8-4 in back to back seasons. Pitt finally looks like it's on the right path and I'm pumped, then I come here.

I often wonder why no one shows up to Heinz Field for our games. I know Heinz Field offers a supply of tickets that far exceeds demand. I've made my peace with it until the powers at be have the opportunity to change it. But, I also realized, we have some pretty miserable fans. Look, like it or not, Penn State had a fabulous season. Yea, their schedule was bad, but they came in focused weekly and handled their business. They're being rewarded with a trip to a conference title game and a great bowl or maybe a playoff game. They're also seeing an uptick in recruiting because of their season.

But, I log on here and see endless posts bitching about Penn State. Every single Penn State fan on earth will lose to Pitt yearly if it means they end up in a conference title game. 42-39 doesn't mean anything now. Whatever happened with Sandusky is in the rear view mirror. They are a force to be reckoned with. Pitt must deal with it. Pitt has an opportunity to walk in there next year and beat them at home. It's an opportunity for Narduzzi to build upon the strong foundation that he's laid for us. Pitt will close strong and have a great recruiting class. But please Pitt fans. Can we give PSU their due and focus on us more?

Fans do show up... I dont know what you are talking about. Just because, like every other school, our attendance declines when school isnt in session, doesnt mean we dont have fans. We dont have have the undergraduate population of other schools, we are fine. It only bothers the penn state fans who want to use it to their advantage. That is all. I know I could care less if there is 38k or 60k at the game for my viewing pleasure, and in fact, I prefer not being jammed next to my neighbor and not having leg room. I like Heinz field, and I attend as many games as I can each year, which is usually 2 or 3 only (I dont live close at all). And I go to as many away games and the bowl games every year. I dont understand the obsession. I much rather have a team and university I can be proud of and proud in front of my peers professionally than have all the penn state stuff over my head and know what everyone thinks about when someone says they went to penn state.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd love to be 10-2 and in the ACC title game even if it meant losing to Penn State. Alabama isn't Alabama because they beat Auburn every year. They're Alabama because they win the SEC and Championships. So if they lose to Auburn and win a National Title, no one remembers the loss to Auburn.

Secondly, thanks for your thought about my battle with cancer. Although I vehemently disagree with your assertation that I've been overly negative or slamming potential recruits. I have been overly positive since initially being concerned about this recruiting class. I feel as though Narduzzi has done a stellar job winning games here at Pitt. I do feel that Jeter is overrated, but I don't feel as though that is slamming or putting down a recruit. It's merely an opinion.

Finally, as much as I like you from your posts Stache, you don't know me. And you certainly don't know how I've reacted to having cancer. I certainly haven't internalized it at all. In fact, on a very personal level...it has strengthened my faith and personal relationship with a higher being. But, suggesting that it has caused me behavioral issues is really crossing the line. Miami has won multiple national championships with weak attendance. It hasn't effected their recruiting either...

Attendance had nothing to do with expansion. If it did, WVU would be in the ACC...

Yet attendance is treated like some hollow badge of honor to prove relevance by some idiot fan bases.

Pitt will NEVER draw as well as the bigger land grant schools....NEVER. The reasons have been discussed here and everywhere else.

Of course not, it's always an excuse for them. Average seasons at PSU and they will clamor "well we would still demolish Pitt." They lose to Pitt and they come up with more excuses to why they actually lost. James from State College has the exact same attitude so really he's a perfect fit there.

Hey man nothing personal but why come here with Debbie Downer stuff. Let's talk football. Your post sucks and PSU hates Pitt every bit as much Pitt hates PSU. I get tickled(no pun intended) every time I here two things from PSU cultist. One, when they say they can care less about Pitt. Two, we are a top 10 program. I just ask them how many times PSU has finished ranked in the top 10 after the Bowls over the last 15-20 years. I don't get a number for an answer. I get a description "all things Penn St". Look it is easy to ignore any Posts anytime......I have over 18,000 but only a few 3 to 6 Topic Threads and mostly Links to other Websites talking about Pitt. I ignore far more more than 18,000 Top Subject Threads every day with far fewer to no Posts!

I also support Penn State, WVU and Pitt being better every day, and want them win the Big Ten, ACC, and Big-12 every year and prefer to play them every year.

But reading about how PSU or WVU or other Topics should not come up on the Lair when one can ignore them all, instead of putting up a Post why talk about Pen State?

On PSU & WVU Boards they bring up Pitt all the time and especially when Pitt loses, so be it, banter is fine! The is called "RIVALS" not TALK ABOUT RIVALS?

Pitt just made the Top 25 after a long time, and Penn State is in the Big Ten Champ game and good for them, and WVU might go 10-2, and good for them too. They will come over here and I welcome them, if they discuss Football Content together, but not attacks on Pitt on the Lair, No Here Dear, is That Clear Dear!

Complaining about Pitt by bringing up Penn State is also about bringing up Penn State, so it says nothing when trying to tell others what we need to post and don't post, I am going to post on Pitt, Penn State, and WVU too.

I also accept that Pitt is rebuilding its Team and Program in the ACC, and WVU & Penn State already have Rebuilt Programs in Big-12 & Big Ten, and that is OK too!

It is only up to Pitt be rebuild itself, no one else!

Probably better than Indiana and Maryland too. I know they are both 6-6 but they sure pad those OOC schedules in the B10. Maryland beat Howard, FIU,and UCF. Indiana beat FIU, Ball State,and lost to Wake. Syracuse played USF, ND, and UConn. Syracuse would be 6-6 too playing those OOC schedules.

If you had really found that personal relationship with a higher being, you would be able to separate the PSU football issues from the total lack of morals and human decency that is PSU, the PSU coaches, and the administration. Regardless of what you wrongly believe, the child rapes and the heinous crimes of Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky and the entire PSU administration should NEVER be put in the rear view mirror or forgotten. PSU embodies what is wrong with college sports. PSU coaches and administration participated in and looked the other way during these child rapes while Joe Paterno allowed them to happen for over 4 decades.

This has nothing, zero, to do with what PSU has or has not done on the football field this year. Frankly, I don't care what they did. It's irrelevant and they are irrelevant. What is important and relevant is that PSU shouldn't even be playing football for a long, long time as a result of these heinous crimes against young boys.

If you're willing to forgive the PSU coaches and administration, including Paterno, for raping little boys while "moving on", you haven't found that relationship with that higher being. You have problems well beyond anything you can reveal on a message board. People like you make me sick. Your lack of moral decency is just a reflection of your love for that sexually perverted school. Maybe you better try and develop a better relationship with that higher being and seek help and forgiveness from that being. You certainly need it.

Fans do show up... I dont know what you are talking about. Just because, like every other school, our attendance declines when school isnt in session, doesnt mean we dont have fans. We dont have have the undergraduate population of other schools, we are fine. It only bothers the penn state fans who want to use it to their advantage. That is all. I know I could care less if there is 38k or 60k at the game for my viewing pleasure, and in fact, I prefer not being jammed next to my neighbor and not having leg room. I like Heinz field, and I attend as many games as I can each year, which is usually 2 or 3 only (I dont live close at all). And I go to as many away games and the bowl games every year. I dont understand the obsession. I much rather have a team and university I can be proud of and proud in front of my peers professionally than have all the penn state stuff over my head and know what everyone thinks about when someone says they went to penn state.

Finally a rational post. I completely agree with everything you said. If attendance picks up then the same people will start bitching about the weather, or we play in a city or some other bs thing. It really gets old. Like you, just go to the games and participate, win or lose. It is great entertainment, fun and a chance to connect with others.
