Mercifully, I was caught in a 90 minute traffic jam driving home after watching the game (I say mercifully, because being stuck in a traffic jam was a pleasure compared to watching that shit show game we just saw).
There is only one good thing about that game.... we avoided yet another mind-numbing, embarrassing lose to a second division school. Spare me the "they played in the national championship last year". YSU is a team that any decent Power 5 team should roll.
There are so many low lights, that I'll just comment on a few of the most egregious.
1. Max Browne - wow, what can be said? This guy is a 5th year senior? Looked more like a freshman deer in the head lights. Terrible reads and nothing but dinks for 3 yards. Played not to lose as opposed to win. Add to the fact that he's about as mobile as an oak tree. He's going to get eaten up when he plays a good defense.
2. O-line - Horrible. They couldn't block YSU. Few holes to run through and pass blocking was atrocious. With Mr Mobility behind them, he'll be lucky to survive the year intact.
3. D-line - half a notch better then the O-line. YSU had some gaping holes to run through. Very little pressure on their QB.
4. LB's - Simply shit. Didn't fill gaps and couldn't cover anyone. I thought last year was bad. I think half the guys on this board could burn Zeise on a wheel route. Brightwell did not impress in the middle (although he's playing out of position IMO).
5. WR's - did we even have any WR's in the game? Weah made exactly one nice play. Thank god. The rest of the game I don't recall any catches by the WRers.
6. RB's - pedestrian. Ollison goes down too easily. Hall shows me nothing. AJ Davis looked the best in his few carries. Of course it was hard to tell too much because there weren't many holes. No one making me forget TD or Shady.
A few other observations. Bricen Garner should start over Jayzee Stocker. Campbell or Miller over Dennis Briggs.
Absolutely pathetic performance. PSU will beat us by 30.
