POSTED (Can someone smart post the depth chart?)

Would have to say my first take...

SHOCKED that Dane Jackson isnt the number one. He was clearly our best CB last year.

Surprised that Darrin Hall isnt the feature back. I am guessing this is because of the vanilla look for Albany?

eyebrow slightly raised that Aaron Mathews is the starter at WR, just havent heard anything about him, so thought he was going to be second string behind some new WR. Either he improved alot, or the young kids arent ready yet.

Also... is Coleman hurt?

Can someone tell me which WR position is the "x"? That is where Duzz says Mack should be listed.

I hope he starts over Mathews, personally.
The "X" Wr is usually your split end, the one on the Line of scrimmage, opposite of your TE. the "z" is usually your flanker, the one that tends to go in motion more often.

Weah was the "X" last year, im guessing it's Matthews this year..

I hope Paris gets the chance to return some kicks.

Can you imagine how good quadree henderson would have looked on this years team? He is days away from being cut by the Steelers. I'd love to know what dope gave him the horrible advice to ditch school and declare.

He needed money for his family is the reason he gave... but yeah, you are a million percent correct, he would have had the slot receiver position all year long and would have garnered valuable experience at receiver, which he lacks so much.

Also, from what I heard, Patti is looking light years better than Town in practice. I think Town is mop up duty guy, and Patti is there in case the worst happens and Pickett is injured long term... BBBUTTT based on the ridiculous QB decisions last year, who the F knows.

Great. I like the looks of Mack, Lopes, and Tipton much better. And i fully expect Shocky to challenge Tipton for PT within a few weeks.

Purely speculation, but I’d guess Town has disappointed and that is why George was brought in as a walk-on. They have nothing to lose by bringing in an additional arm, and Watson knew of him from his time at IU.

I actually heard good things about Town as well, but he was a back up at his jc last year, so hard to believe he is Dan Marino II.

Pretty amazing we went from last years lot to this years. Seems the direction is bring in strong arms, and charisma and hope to catch lighting in a bottle.

The CFL beckons for Quadree, and I’m not saying that in a negative way. The wide open field, pre snap legal motion (CBs can’t get him on line of scrimmage), and larger rosters give him a shot up there.

I think what may be disconcerting to some Pitt fans is that many of us are so used to Pitt teams for so many years lacking depth (i.e., having a drastic drop off in quality from 1st team to 2nd on the depth chart) that they conflate having near parity between 1st and 2nd team on the depth chart as a sure sign of having a mediocre 1st team.

Will that prove to be the correct view of the 2018 team? Or, will it prove to be a sign of having better quality depth for a change? We should know the answer by the conclusion of the PSU game. Albany most likely will be kept so plain vanilla it won't tell us anything.

I do not understand how Dane Jackson is not the undisputed starter at corner. Did these other guys progress that much (which would be great if true)? They were not close to Jackson's level last year so that is surprising to me.

This is minor, but I notice that the back up kicker is the starting holder.
