Hi Everybody, I'm brand new here so sorry if this question is a bit repetitive, but does anybody see us getting that kid from Bucknell? I think his name is Nate Sestina. Also, what's the story with Ibrahima Diallo? Supposedly he's supposed to commit to a school at the end of the month, so hopefully Capel can land him. I'd like to get Sestina and Jaylen Fisher to run a three-man rotation at the 1 and 2, because I think Johnson and McGowens were exhausted from being the two big scorers and playing a lot of minutes last season. What do you guys think?

A big guy who can rebound and catch is a must. Sestina checks both of those boxes. A 5 is by far our most pressing need

We need a big like Sestina far more than we need a 6-2 guard like Fisher.

Jaylen Fisher is undoubtedly the better player, but will he be healthy? He's played 61 games in 3 years. I don't think he's a grad transfer either, wouldn't he have to sit out a year?

If that's the case, Sestina would be the bigger get because he fills a huge need right now and doesn't take up a scholarship for a year that he won't play.

Fisher has gone through 6 surgeries over that last 3 years. Three on his right knee over the last 12 months. TCU didn't want back, not sure what he's got left.

It seems there are too many negatives surrounding Fisher. His injury situation suggests he should now embark on some other pursuit in life other than playing basketball.

Hopefully Sestina is looked at and the two parties have significant interest. There's a player from FGCU, Stony Brook, Arkansas-LR, tons of players are available. Some of them will want to play on NCAA tourney teams and some of them aren't at that level. Maybe Pitt would get 1-2 impactful guys.

I would be very disappointed if we don't sign 2 grad transfers.

Maybe we sign another Fr, Juco, and Grad Transfer. Saying you would be very disappointed is being dramatic until we see who signs.
Your opinion. The grad transfer market is strong this year. We need scholarships to give next year.

Add experienced players, replace them with HS stars. No brainier.

Let’s say we bring in a Reclassified Freshman Guard who can shoot, Sidy comes back, a Juco Big, and a Grad Transfer Big. The roster would be in good shape and 4 new ‘ships for next year’s class.

^^^ Stupid. I'm all for 2 Grad Transfers in 2019. We need at least 3, if not more scholarships in 2020. I think one or both of Kene/Malik will be back in 2019.

Right and that's the reason this is even a question. He's a career 41% 3 point shooter who can distribute and make an impact on defense. Nate Sestina's rebounding will translate, I'm confident of that, but everything else is a question mark for me.

Of course, Nate Sestina has zero health related red flags and Jaylen is buried by them. There's definitely a timeline where TCU are dead wrong and he makes a huge impact for his new team, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Every kid has different reasons for why he picks a school.

Calipari seemed to know exactly what Nathan wanted and sold him on it quick.

Calipari can offer a deep NCAA run. Whether he can or would promise starters minutes is another matter. But some players may be satisfied with just the run even if they will likely only be bench depth at a KY and seeing less than a starters PT.

Why go to UK to sit? Pitt is the perfect landing spot, tons of playing time available.

As a Pitt fan, yes, come here, start and play major minutes. But who knows what his true aspirations are: NCAA tourney, UK exposure, Coach Cal or minutes, still ACC exposure, etc.

If Kentucky offers, he is going to Kentucky, period......unless they reload with a bunch of better players. Even if he doesnt start, and he may, he will get PT off the bench and how can you say no to that.

There were other schools that can provide opportunities to make runs in the NCAA tournament. Some of these kids are concentrated on the next level whether that is the NBA or over seas. No one prepares them as well as Kentucky and that is a selling point Calipari sells very well.

Side note that’s any area I think Pitt football should push relentlessly

It’s working out for Reid Travis, I’m sure Sestina is thinking he can do the same.

Forget sestina. We can develop a 3 shooter or pick one up late if a ship opens.
We need Diallo and sy (or two bigs in that mold 6'10-7'0) to replace or relieve brown.
Rebounds are more important and make a bigger difference than 3's.
get that and the rest and wind will take care of itself.

Per Evan Daniels:

Charleston Southern guard Christian Keeling is transferring. Averaged just under 19 ppg and hit 81 3's. Grad Transfer.

Wvu has put more people in the transfer portal than Spock and Capt Kirk. Now they have Harris 6'8,West 6'8,Gordan 6'9,Doomes6'3 and Bolden 6' going out into space.I'm checking to see if I have any eligibility left, Huggy needs players!West and Bolden are Grad transfers.

Pretty much the entire teams at UMass and Alabama are in the portal also. I am putting my name in.
