this early in the morning I did some high level research. Wikipedia. It had to be accurate? Right.

Anyway their numbers identify 65 Power Five schools. In 2015, 45% of the P5 made the NCAAs and 57% made it to NCAAs or NITs. Yes it is an accomplishment to make the tourney but it seems more of an accomplishment to NOT make it.

The next coach might have to really suck to not get us there.

In the end though I only care about Pitt. So "the King is dead! Long live the King!!!"

Only 6 schools have made more NCAA tournaments than Pitt over the past 15 years.

Only 11 Power 5 + Big East schools have made it to past 4 tournaments.

Teams just don't make the tournament every single year. Pitt has gone to 3 tournaments over the past 4 years, only 28 (of 75) other P5+BE schools can say the same. That's pretty good company that Dixon had them in, even in a bit of a down stretch.
